I'm Standing with the Philippines, my homeland!
The power of healing can come from such small jestures of kindness.
My name is Belen Cantiller. I currently reside in the United States but my homeland is Cuartero, Capiz, a small remote area in the Philippines. My family still resides in Cuartero, Capiz. I spoke with my brother after the typhoon struck and he told me they have no electricity, and food and water are very scarce.
The "absolute bedlam"1 in the Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan is as heartbreaking as it is horrifying. And there are no easy answers for what we should do but I know I have to be proactive to help save my family and friends before things take a turn for the worst.
Cuartero, Capiz is a remote location, so you probably won't hear it mentioned in news reports. If you look on a map of the Philippines, it's located directly in the path of the eye of the typhoon. Usually donations made to established relief organizations don't make it to remote communities like Cuartero for months, if at all. Community residents are desperately walking up-to-six-hours, to different areas searching for much needed resources to survive
When viewing the reports of devastations like this one, it almost rendered me helpless not knowing what had happened to my love ones. I believe people viewing this devastation really want to send aid, they may not know how. I'm asking you to....
Please Stand with Me
I was referred to this Indiegogo fundraising site because this will allow me to reach more people with the launch of this campaign. My goal of $25,000 will ensure residents are able to afford basic hygiene supplies as well as food. Every penny raised will go directly to Cuartero, Capiz.
- The perks consist of a listing of each contributors name in the local Philippine newspaper, so that your specific generousity will be recognized by all community Cuarteronhons.
- A commerative pen with the date the typhoon struck and the name of my hometown Cuartero, Capiz
A Direct Impact on Survivors

You can help me achieve this goal. It is my sincere hope
that you will want to join my effort to save the Cuarteronhon men, women and children affected by the typhoon. Please give in
proportion to the need and to your ability. Your gift will help a remote community in immediate need that can't wait for the political red tape to be cut before they receive aid.
Other Ways You Can Help

For people that just can’t afford to contribute, there is another way you can help:
- Get the word out and make some noise about this campaign.
- Please use the Indiegogo share tools to spread the word!

The perks I have listed are just my way of saying thank you for being so brave in helping typhoon survivors in their greatest time of need especially with the gloomy economic forcast in the USA.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
