Campaign In Brief

• I am an independent author, blogger, and historian as well as a lifelong Space Opera fan- Western and Eastern alike who is tired of the lack of quality Space Opera coming out of Hollywood, disappointed with recent Japanese releases, and decided to do something about it.
• This campaign is to help me hire the professional help I require to finish the first book in a nine book series, and doing so guarantees that this book will be published. It will be for sale at Amazon for Kindle and then made available in paperback via Print On Demand- but you'll get it before it goes on sale.
• While this campaign is for the first book specifically, every additional book in the series can also be guaranteed to be published if there is sufficient support for this campaign now, as I can then focus on getting them out as fast as I can manage- and backers get them first.

What I Need & What You Get

• I need to hire an editor, get the cover done, and get the final manuscript formatted for publication. Your backing makes this happen. You get the ebook in MOBI or EPUB, and print versions will be sent ASAP.
• For every $1K past the goal, you guarantee that the next book will be published because I will be able to get the help required to make it happen (up to $9K). Starting at $10K I can talk additional merchandise, art books, a RPG sourcebook, and hardcover options.
• If the initial goal is not met, YOU LOSE NOTHING! Funds otherwise are used for the help aforementioned (editors, artists) and improving my tools so I can get more done faster.

The Impact

• No one's ever attempted a Space Opera like this. Real Robots, Super Robots, Knights with Laser Swords, Space Battleships fighting fleet actions by the thousands, heroes you can believe in, heroines that inspire you, villains most vile, a galactic civilization that isn't an empire or a republic- but instead a galaxy of kingdoms guided by a single Church, and the monsters that would undo it just to spite their creator. You have to play Super Robot Wars to get anything close to it.

Challenges

• Reading and watching a lot of the material going into this is nice, but the scholarly training I underwent in graduate school--where I broke down the critical events of world history by looking at who did what to whom, where, when, how, and why--is the key to making this a viable thing. The rest is up to my prowess as a storyteller, something else I learned to do in my university days.
• This is something that can't be told; you have to see it. There will be excerpts posted over the campaign's duration; read those and see for yourself if you think I've got what it takes to pull this off.
