250 million children in the world  (some in the United States) can't read, write, and perform arithmetic. We are here to change that, with you.

The Global Learning XPRIZE is a competition to build Open Source software to teach a child to read, write, and perform arithmetic, by themselves, without a teacher. Teams will compete to win $15 million in awards to build this revolutionary technology. We are building our own team, StarShine GLEE to win. Our team will include StarShine students in Phoenix, Mexico, Santa Fe, and Liberia with others from around the world, to learn how to build a real STEAM project that works!!! (STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math)

But this is not enough. We want to bring this technology to more kids in more villages, to test and improve it, to build a global community committed to eradicating illiteracy and create a world more peaceful and more prosperous.
