about Stelios:
I am a trumpetist, composer and producer, originated from Athens, Greece. I have already released 2 albums (Urban Stories/2014 and The Froth of the Daydream/2017) which have received stellar reviews internationally. I have been fortunate enough to collaborate with amazing musicians who belong to the youngest generation of the greek jazz scene. For more info please visit: www.stelioschatzikaleas.com
our Goal:
"Dignity" is going to be my 3rd album. After enjoying this pleasant voyage of transferring the music from paper to tape in the studio, there is a lot to be done in order for you to start listening to it at home. This is where our Indiegogo Campaign and You can help us reach our goal. The album will be released in physical (on Vinyl and CD) and digital (Spotify, AppleMusic etc.) formats in June 2020. We are searching for funds in order to:
- Mix and Master the album
- Cover all the promotional costs including videos, posters, artwork
- Set up a tour in Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Italy, Spain (2020-2021)
the Music:
Leaving behind the lyricism of the previous albums, "Dignity" is a new series of energetic compositions where jazz, pop and interactive improvisation play a vital role to the new music produced. My partners belong to the youngest generation of the greek jazz scene, contributing to the highest level of musicality with pure honesty, passion and intuition. Yiannis Papadopoulos, Ntinos Manos, Thodoris Kotsifas and Christos Konstantinidis all of them extraordinary musicians and composers made the recording procedure such an ease. The ethereal voice of young and such a talented singer, Nefeli Fasouli is featured in one of the tunes on which, german singer/ songwriter Christian Ronig contributed with his lyrics. The album consists of 7 tunes: 6 original compositions and 1 cover.
Our Team:
Gerard de Haro (ECM, ACT a.o.) is responsible for the mixing and Nicolas Baillard for the mastering at La Buissonne Studio (France)
George Kariotis, Sierra Studio, (Greece) who recorded such an inspiring session.
Tasos Alevras, upraising greek cinematographer is directing the music videos, together with Dora Kalakidou on camera
Vasilis Botoulas a virtuoso painter taking care of the artwork
Nicolas Chryssos (Lightbox Photography) giving his spectacular "Eye" on artwork's, posters' and social media photography
Risks & Challenges
Within all the difficulties, art production in Greece and especially jazz music reaches its best in all levels without receiving any support by the official state.
Raising 6.000 Euros will guarantee the production and release of our new album, stimulate our creativity and support us in order to spread our music worldwide. The scheduled release of the album is May/June 2020. Funds received over and above 6.000 Euros will allow the production to have extra features, cover promotion costs as well as travel costs for the group's tour around the world.
