Short Summary

Hi! I'm a 22 year old writer and video editor in NYC! Currently I'm a senior at Marymount Manhattan College, and I'm working on my senior project, a short film! I'm so excited to start pre-production, and can use some help with funding production! This short is a black-comedy satire of women in the horror genre, and all the ridiculous situations male writers seem to get them into. The goal is to raise awareness of the absurdity of the male gaze in horror, and hopefully encourage more people to question why misogynistic tropes like this exist. Want to help me?

What We Need & What You Get

I'm looking to raise funds to help with the cost of:

Location Scouting/ Filming Locations: Around $200 a day for 3 days = $600

Transportation for Actors/Crew: about $300

Cost of Equipment Rental: about $400

Costumes and Props: $350

And other miscellaneous costs! Any donation over $20 will get a producer credit! all donations will get a lovely thank you message from me via shoutout on my podcast "Killer Conversations" which averages about 500 listens an episode.

The Impact

Are you sick of seeing men write one-dimensional women characters? Are you tired of women immediately dying in horror movies after having sex? Don't you want to see a female character that actually thinks like you and makes rational decisions?
SAME!

This film will hopefully make some festivals, and can help change the narrative surrounding the role of women in genre film.
