Who We Are
Created in January 2014, Broadway Chamber Players has embarked on becoming New York City's newest and most innovative concert series by producing chamber concerts
right here in the heart of Broadway's Theater District. Our concerts bring
together the finest instrumentalists, composers, and conductors across
classical, jazz, and new-music fields, unified by one common thread—we all
perform on Broadway.
That’s right: At each Broadway Chamber Players concert, the musicians from the orchestra pit take center stage. Each concert is different, featuring different players and instrumental combinations as our incredible colleagues come together to form new groups and perform chamber works which range from standard masterworks to newly commissioned pieces by some of Broadway's finest composers and arrangers.
Our mission is to continue Broadway's great tradition of live music, further enriching the Theater District concert scene by programming diverse chamber music concerts and providing a fresh approach to hear some of New York City's finest musicians in an intimate
setting.
This is an exciting yet challenging time for live music. With music one tap away
on your smartphone or computer, more people are listening to music today then
ever before. This is a great thing! However, it’s no secret that digital advancements in how music is created and consumed has taken its toll on live music. It is through our performances that we wish to raise the public’s desire to preserve this important musical art form and attract both theater-loving tourists and die-hard, local music-lovers alike.
We see the future of Broadway Chamber Players as a strong voice in the
fight for the survival of live music, and we are excited to work towards
spreading the captivating spirit of live art by showcasing the incredible
talents of Broadway's many members.
You’ve probably already heard us before in the theater, on a cast album, on TV, or even during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but now, you can come see us, meet us, and experience our music, up-close and LIVE!
Where You Come In
Broadway Chamber Players launched our first season in January with zero funding. We produced six concerts in six months due largely to our amazing Broadway colleagues donating their time and talents to our cause for free. Even as we begin our second season, our modest ticket prices barely cover the fees associated with the rental of our performance space, website presence, or our advertising, printing, and production costs.
We have seen the incredible response from our musicians and audience members since our inception, and now we need your help to take our efforts to the next level, and spread our mission even further.
Your support will help to cover:

What We Have in Store
Moving forward, we are looking to further build our staff as well as assemble a board of directors. We hope to continue to offer more and more concerts in our upcoming seasons, including a possible Broadway Summer Festival Series of weekly
concerts.
Broadway Chamber Players has long-term plans to not only be a concert series, but a distinct performing ensemble that utilizes a core of outreach musicians to travel to neighboring communities in order to provide educational programs and workshops for schools, musicians, and composers alike.
Building our audiences of tomorrow begins in the
educating of our youngest generations today.
