Support Our NHS Staff
They have looked after us and risked their own health during a pandemic. They have treated us, healed us, comforted us for 2 years.
But our NHS staff are emotionally and physically exhausted now. Burnout is high, staff sickness is high.
They need a boost.
I want to discuss the important issue of mental health.I want to meet people from the NHS, hear their experiences and make a new piece of art especially for them to thank them for their work.
I am an artist, film director and former medical doctor. Supporting our NHS staff and discussing mental health is important to me.
What We Need & What You Get
I need £30,000 to make 6 episodes of an online series. Each episode will cost £5,000 to make: this funds writing, directing, filming, editing and making the art.
Incentives:
Whatever money we make will go towards making as many episodes as we can. If we don't hit our target of £30,000 we will upgrade all donors. For example, a £10 donor will be credited and be invited to the video updates.
Everyone will be able to watch the series for free online.
We will film over the next 6 months and release by the end of the year.
The Impact
This series is important because there is a mental, emotional and physical health crisis in the NHS. We will show our support and gratitude by giving them a platform to share their feelings and experience. And I will make a new, bespoke piece of art for each of them to thank them on our behalf.
We want you to apply to be featured in the series. Email your name, your job title and your story to NHStribute@gmail.com. We will feature 6 members of the NHS, one in each episode.
Track record:
I have a lot of experience of making films about mental health:
Message to Doctors in Crisis
Suicide Prevention
Zen Master Eeyore
Risks & Challenges
I will make this series through my production company Solar Plexus. We have 20 years of art and film making experience between us. We have most of the equipment we need.
This series is a new format for me and my production company. But we have studied and planned for it. We are ready.
Other Ways You Can Help
Please help support our exhausted NHS staff by sharing this on social media. And don't forget to email us with your stories too.
