Synopsis: 

Sweet Pea is a 3D animated nursery rhyme series. It follows the story of a young boy and his twin sisters who sing nursery rhymes to reinforce learning and reading in a fun and entertaining way.

Inspiration:

 Sweet Pea was born from a need, like many ideas. The need for literacy is paramount. We began entertaining ideas and video concepts, and Sweet Pea took on a life of its own.

Just how serious is the world’s literacy problem? According to the International Literacy Association, there are 781 million people in the world who are either illiterate (cannot read a single word) or functionally illiterate (with a basic or below basic ability to read). Some 126 million of them are young people. Woooooow! That’s astonishing because literacy is a skill and key measurement of a population’s education.

Interesting Facts:

By age 2, a child’s brain is as active as an adult’s and by age 3 the brain is more than twice as active as an adult’s – and stays that way for the first 10 years of life.

Cognitive processes develop rapidly in the first few years of life. By age 3, roughly 85% of the brain is developed. Unfortunately, traditional education (grades K-12) doesn't begin until age 5.

According to the Department of Education, the more that students read or are read to for fun, on their own time and at home, the higher their reading scores, generally.

Our goals are to inspire, educate and to promote childhood literacy through the use of 3D animation.

Animation Process

3D animation is much like traditional film production, however, many people are unaware of the start to finish process and the associated costs for each stage of animation development. We would like to invite our backers into the fun and exciting world of 3D animation from start to finish.

Our process includes how our company develops songs, characters, 3D environments, story boards, layout reels and of course the final animation that backers are privileged to view first.

From the story board our animators are able to create our characters and 3D environments. Characters are created based upon our specification and up to our satisfaction. Characters are given bones and joints, for controlling purposes, during the animation process.

Our creation starts to come to life at the next stage. Music is added, the characters are posed and placed in the 3D environment, ready for animation.

With the support of the Indiegogo community, our company can continue to produce wholesome videos and books for children that promote education and reinforces good manners and learning.

This breakdown is mainly based on the expenses incurred for our completed videos. The total cost is expected to cover the expenses for 10 additional early education videos.
