Who We Are, Why We Do What We Do.
SȲNS, lead by Maddison’s melodic jazzy vocals, is a three person pop-alternative rock band that's as close as family... well, actually we are family.
Our band's sound has been described as 30 Seconds to Mars meets Flyleaf, mixed with a bit of Florence and the Machine, BANKS, Paramore and PVRIS. It's a mix of almost every style, it seems, because growing up we have all listened to different types of music.
Now... since we've met, we've created the haunting sound that we have today in our first single, "Stay". One of our biggest fears is to be put into a box, a box so tight that only one group of people loves our music. From writing to the instrumentals, to writing the lyrics... we have always wanted people to be able to move to our beats and express themselves. Our songs address everything from our daily struggles of the human mind, to the moral issues in the world today, to the things that break our hearts.
In this journey of making our visions real, we have completely self-funded everything. We produced our debut single, "Stay" as proof to the public as much as ourselves. It took A LOT to shoot a high-quality music video like we did with professional Nashville-quality soundtrack. And all the while, we self-funded everything. This is why we would love your help!
We have created this campaign so that you can get cool stuff and we can keep busting out awesome songs. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY we want to be in partnership with YOU! Your partnership would mean the world to us. It really would.
What We Need & What You Get
Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help with the cost of:
- recording
- videos for the remaining three songs on the EP
- mixing and mastering of those songs; and
- promotion, art work and duplication
If we raise more then we need, we would use the funds for touring expenses so we can visit you lovely people!
The Impact - How We Will Impact the World
We are HUGE advocates for Agape International Missions (AIM). They help rescue girls out of sex trafficking in Cambodia. AIM gives these girls a safe place to start their life over, learning new trades in a school while being taught the love of Jesus so they can begin their lives again in Cambodia.
The next single we are releasing will bring awareness to the worldwide issue of sex trafficking. There are many moving parts in this song and video so we can't give specifics just yet, but by having the funds we need will help us be sure that stadiums of people (*HINT) won't be able to ignore this issue.
We have continually had a relationship with AIM and have been actively teaming up with them to further their cause. We promoted and performed in a Sacramento area concert centered around AIM with artists like Fate Under Fire and Wade Graves, and it was very successful. We have also been on a North West American tour with "The Extreme Tour" with our AIM bracelets, necklaces, shirts, scarves and bags all hand-made by girls from Cambodia rescued by AIM. We try and find every opportunity to support this great non-profit.
What Happens If We Don't Raise The Money ?
The world ends... No... Just kidding...
What DOES happen is we continually keep trusting in the process of a struggling musician, ...but we don't loose hope. We work very hard at our day job's to help fund what we know God has put in our hearts too share with the world.
Everything happens in it's own timing, but we hope you all know that in our spare time outside of school and work, we know can be a self-sustaining band. We are always looking for ways to save money and make money by taking on odd jobs. For instance, provide photography shoot services for people. We also help others with their social media and websites, as well as odd jobs like house sitting and cleaning.
