We design cards for use in Pen & Paper Roleplaying games.

Our aim is to improve immersion, simplify bookkeeping and spark creativity for players of various systems and universes. The idea is using customized cards to manage characters‘ assets. Each set will include 120 full colored cards intended to cover the needs of adventurers of all kinds.

The shipped cards will not have text on them. this is our imagination of your beautiful handwriting. You could also print stickers we provide (see below).

The cards help to visualize your characters without leaving "low-tech" Pen & Paper territory. For example, if your character stumbles and something falls out of his backpack and down a cliff, the Game Master can have you draw a card at random and discard it. No long discussion but fast, clearly visible results.

We are convinced using cards to handle a party's "assets" speeds up the game, gives your a clear overview of what you have (or in the case of the game master, what your players have), gain or lose in a certain situation. Using physical cards helps visualizing not just your stuff, but what happens with it.

There are no names or descriptions on our cards. It is up to you to add those. What we did is designing a category system which is represented on cards by dividing them into four colors as well as ~25 colored illustrations. For example, there is a category for sword-like weapons, but no defined longsword card. 

If we succeed with our Indiegogo campaign, we will produce sets of 120 Medieval / Fantasy-themed cards. Dungeons & Dragons or your Own Universe, World of Darkness or Unknown Armies, Numenera to Game of Thrones, the cards will suit your needs. If we reach certain stretch goals, Modern Day / Horror as well as Future / Cyberpunk sets might be added as well.

The cards feature graphics but no text - to allow for endless flexibility. The white space can be used to note the specific name of the item (or entity) so both players and game masters can adapt and always have the card ready for a given situation.

Generalized, yet characteristic and unique illustrations and coloring help keep track of what your characters use and carry around. All cards are layouted to allow for adding stickers (see the Knight perk and above) or plain writing - for example to note condition, origin, customization and amounts.

We have put a lot of time into researching what kind of categories and illustrations are required. We decided to have four main categories (colors red - combat, blue - clothing and containers, green - consumables and yellow - general) and 25 subcategories (illustrations).

Why do we need crowdfunding? While the idea for our project has been developed for our own roleplaying group, we soon realized the cards would be so much more awesome if they were printed professionally - doing that with highest quality is expensive, though - offset printing requires at least hundreds of copies of the set (more than 100 000 cards total!) to make sense.

Thus we had the idea to make the cards available for everyone and to use Indiegogo to gather the funds. We need Your help to make Tabula Rasa available for everyone! But of course we want you thank you for your support, so we developed a set of rewards (ones you can actually use!) you get for backing us. Of course, this includes the cards themselves.

We have also set a few Stretch Goals in case we exceed or funding and if You are backing us and we exceed even those numbers, we will add more:

• 8 000 € - Card sleeves! Every package will include transparent sleeves to make your cards even more resistant to mead, pizza and other gaming table hazards
• 10 000 € - 10 000 € - Modern day / horror cards!

The projects initiators, Anton Katzer and Wiebke Scholz are based in Berlin, Germany, and first of all, passionate gamers. We have a background in game design and art as well as in print and web publishing.
