Summary
Friends of Tara is a group of friends dedicated to celebrating the life and memory of Tara McCartney. Each year, we launch a campaign to capture the spirit of this remarkable woman. Tara left her mark on so many. She had a large and giving heart. As a point of inspiration, we decided to create a campaign with a nod to her deep, rich connections and spotlight a worthy cause – the Tara Partrice McCartney (nee Ervin) Scholarship Fund. By contributing to this campaign, Friends of Tara will provide financing to a scholarship fund that provides $1,000 each year to two students.
What We Need & What You Get
The goal of this campaign is to raise $750 to help support the scholarship. Any monetary proceeds from this campaign will go directly to the scholarship fund. This is our way of keeping Tara in our hearts as well as spreading a little bit of her joy and love to others.
In the spirit of giving, we have established several unique perks for the kindness shown by the campaign's contributors:
$5: Snowflake Hair Tie (1) = This hair tie will assist you in completing your look for all of the merry parties and events that you have leading up to the holidays.
$8: Roasted Sugar Pecans (1) = A ¼ lb bag of wonderfully glazed pecans spiced with cinnamon and allspice, these are great treats for yourself or for someone special.

$12: Holiday Popcorn (1) = 1 lb of salty popcorn covered in tasty melted marshmallows with a dash of chocolate and jazzed up with some red & green M&Ms. It comes to you in a festive holiday tin making it perfect for gift giving.

The Impact
The $750 goal will assist in funding one student's scholarship for the year. Students receiving the scholarship are selected with preference going to female students who are English majors, and are strong academics (Overall GPA: 3.2+). Imagine the ability to assist a student pay for class credits, buy textbooks or help with housing costs. Tara showed caring to everyone she encountered —and now you can do the same for a student in pursuit of a degree.
