Short Summary
This film will document one team's journey to compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons - a 24 hour endurance race with cars that cost no more than $500. The title of the race is a parody - combining the longstanding "24 Hours of Le Mans" with the fact that the $500 cars that are competing are basically "lemons".
These races set themselves apart from the typical road race by the unusual penalties and punishments meted out by judges (for example, one team had to complete a game of Giant Jenga before their driver could get back in the car and return to the track) as well as a blatant disregard for traditional motorsport politicking. The series is similar to the ChumpCar World Series which developed out of it, but retains a more carnival-like atmosphere.
The documentary will start with the creation/recruiting of the team, finding the appropriate car to compete in then preparing it for the race, and finally the actual race.
