THE BOOK OF QUINT
A 300+ page novel detailing the events that make Quint into the fearless shark hunter of Amity Island. Follow him from 1945 to 1968, and witness how Quint rises to become a legend of the North Atlantic. The rest of the story can now be told.
HISTORY
50 years ago, Peter Benchley was writing the manuscript for the novel Jaws in 1972. By January, 1973, he would turn the manuscript into his publisher and the rest was history. The book was then made into one of the finest films ever to touch the silver screen, with the release of Jaws in 1975.
50 years later, history is ready to repeat itself. The 50th anniversary of Jaws is fast approaching and the universe is lining up for a Jaws prequel. The story of Quint that Steven Spielberg originally wanted to do as a second Jaws film, but Universal had other ideas, still has time to get made.

WRITING AND REPORTING
For the last 23 months, I have conducted a full research phase, then transitioned into a writing phase for the prequel to Jaws called The Book of Quint which is on schedule for completion by July 2022.
Six months ago, I also started a detailed weekly broadcast called The Jaws Obsession in order to show that Jaws is a greater film when you understand the details hidden within.

These details discussed in the Jaws Obsession were based on my research and writing of The Book of Quint.
The Book of Quint uses the movie Jaws as canon and follows the intricate details and clues left in the movie, along with side characters and faces in the background to create an entire backstory to Quint—the fearless fisherman of Amity Island.
SUMMARY
The Book of Quint, following the format of the original Jaws novel, is written in 3 parts:
Part 1: Quint’s final day in the water with the rest of the USS Indianapolis survivors on Thursday, August 2, 1945. How Quint survives the onslaught of sharks and makes it out of the water is shown in great detail. The dramatic PBY rescue and the aftermath of it all. Quint’s life takes an even worse turn in 1951 San Francisco after the start of the Korean war.
Part 2: The deal that brings Quint to Amity Island in 1951 for the sole purpose of hunting sharks. The discovery of the vessel and rebuild process of what will be the iconic Orca. The details surrounding the barrel hunting technique are discovered and perfected over the next 15 years, while Quint watches Amity Island start to become a haven for tourists. Some key characters from the movie Jaws emerge in great detail.
Part 3: The historic battle of 1968 with the massive 16-foot Great White Shark off Montauk, NY as Quint’s hunting technique and the Orca itself are pushed to the limits.

Map of Amity Island
What is the Hobbit without the map of Middle Earth? The story of Quint can only be told utilizing a map of Amity Island which was lacking from the book and movie. With each book, printed inside will be two maps of Amity Island. A 1951 map, and a 1974 map detailing the lighthouses and locations from Jaws and Jaws 2 and you will be able to reference how those locations relate to the Book of Quint.
PUBLISH
With your contribution, my goal is to publish the book and deliver it to as many Jaws fans around the world as possible.
This will be published in book format only and there will not be an e-book release in the future. The story of Quint is iconic and timeless—to read it on paper in a classic format is what I feel would celebrate the character as well as the actor, Robert Shaw, who portrayed him in the movie.
Not only will this story stand alone and create a gripping and dramatic tale of Quint, but also, after reading it, your viewing of the movie Jaws will never be the same. You will notice performances of minor characters and objects in backgrounds that now take on a whole new meaning. This is essentially what a prequel should do—make the original more enjoyable.
FUNDING
Once the campaign reaches $3,000 there will be a publication of The Book of Quint.

The book will be finished in time for Universal to make a decision and get the ball rolling to make this into a Jaws prequel to be released in summer of 2025 for the 50th anniversary of Jaws.
