You awake to find yourself sitting at a table inside a cube, your friends are gone and you are faced with the question, “how do you build a reality which doesn't collapse within three days?”
This VR experience seeks to introduce audiences to the story of one of history's strangest mass disappearances based on the evidence of eight letters left behind by the disappeared.
Made as a collaboration between Simon Wilkinson [circa69] Scott McPherson [Amoeba Design] and Jilt Van Moorst [Amsterdam Film Academy/Robot Funk], this 15 minute first person performance incorporates 360 degree vision, head tracking, hand tracking and a clever manipulation of the kinesthetic senses to create full multi-sensory and narrative immersion.
In addition the show incorporates a substantial transmedia universe designed to keep audiences engaged and interacting with the piece for days after the show is over.
We received Arts Council funding to create an R&D version of this show with additional support from Cambridge Junction and LDD Research Group. The R&D version is currently being tested in Cambridge, Bristol and Brighton so that from July we can go into pre-production for the completion of the work in time for a performance at Digital Festival Brighton in September and a UK / international tour.
