I am an actor, producer and dancer in the San Francisco Bay area. I have a BA from San Francisco State University with a focus on Communications and Dialogue. After 3 years of studying at Beverly Hills Playhouse, I am fulfilling my dream of producing my first short film.
Making this film will allow me to explore being in front of and behind the camera as well as to embody characters I've always to play; Characters who are vulnerable and strong, conflicted and complex.
“The Dark Side” is a dark comedy short that focuses on the taboos surrounding mental health and how we are sometimes our own worst enemy when it comes to our own health and seeking out help.
In the film, a depressed dancer decides to see a therapist for the first time, but she's confronted with an unlikely character who has darker plans for her.
Therapy and the cognitive tools I have learned have been a saving grace for me in my life. I believe one of the most powerful acts we can do as humans is to not only admit our vulnerabilities but to actively seek out ways to better ourselves and our relationships. Specifically, the relationship we have with ourselves.
In addition to my own experiences in this realm, I am enlisting the help of a practicing licensed psychologist to consult on the script and story to ensure we are keeping things as accurate as possible.
We’re raising $10k for a one-day shoot in the SF Bay area which will take place at the beginning of March 2021. Donations will cover payment for:
By contributing to this project you will be helping support artists during the Pandemic.
I want to create a world where every human on the planet is taught to think about and interact with their feelings in healthy ways. Therapy, like any other tool, can help us lead happier, more fulfilled lives. It also helps us be able to navigate the unforeseen dark times and use the cognitive skills learned to emerge as wiser humans.
Let’s normalize mental health and going to therapy by showing that it’s not only a healthy step for one's own betterment but that it also can be free of external judgements or taboos. Therapy, is like going to the gym. We need to keep our minds in shape by going to therapy, the same way we go to the gym to keep our bodies in shape.
