What if you made choices that turned your body against you?
This is one of the central themes of "The Disruption", a sinister dark comedy about the horrors that we sometimes inflict on ourselves. The 30 min. short film follows Cameron, a young gay Puerto Rican photographer who accidentally plagues himself with a horrific case of diarrhea that causes his life to unravel inside and out, over the course of a week. Borrowing influences from the likes of "Louie", "Black Swan" and "It Follows", "The Disruption" is a film that is all at once comedic, absurd, tragic, and terrifying.

The Cast of "The Disruption"A movie that's not about a straight White guy?? WHAT??
Yep. That's right! Along with sharpening my skills as a writer, director, actor, and producer on this project, I want to continue to tell interesting stories with lots of diversity in front of and behind the camera. The cast and crew on this film includes many people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQ community. As with all of my projects, I'd like to help change the way these groups are seen in Film and Television. Often, when we are not the storytellers, POCs, women, and LGBTQ people are portrayed as flat one-dimensional characters, or we simply aren't present
at all! That is why we have to create more opportunities for ourselves. We are all SO much more than the ways we are usually represented in the mainstream, and
I'd like to share our many facets with everyone; while creating more opportunities for diverse storytellers, and hopefully making everyone laugh along
the way.

The Crew of "The Disruption"
But, where does all the money go??
Having a large budget is not what makes a great film. A great film starts with an interesting, well-written story and a fantastic cast and crew, which we already have! But money doesn't hurt, and here, we are really only looking to pay for the essentials. The cast and crew on this film is absolutely top-notch, and first and foremost, we want to make sure everyone is properly compensated for their brilliant work. To give you a clear idea of where everything goes in the making of this film, here's a percentage breakdown of the various costs:
- Cast/Crew Wages: 40%
- Post-Production Costs (Editing, Color Correction, Scoring, Graphics): 20%
- Equipment Rentals + Shipping: 15%
- Locations in NJ and NYC/Production Insurance: 10%
- Music Clearances: 5%
- Meals for cast and crew: 5%
- Travel + Van Rentals: 5%
In return for helping us out, you have the option to choose from one of our awesome perks! All of our perks are related to various, fun aspects of the film, and you'll automatically be a part of our team by donating and/or sharing this campaign page!
Where there's a challenge, there is also a risk...
Film are incredibly difficult to create and finish, but I've never run a set that wasn't buoyant, creative, and relaxed. As a result we work efficiently and the end result is fun to watch because we're all having a great time creating the work. Of course there will still be challenges along the way (there already have been!), but that will never stop this film from being a finished product! We're all too passionate about this to let it slip. Also, we plan on having a solid amount of time for production meetings and rehearsals, so everyone will be prepared from Day One on set.
