THE GIFT OF LIFE TAROT takes real life scenes of real people that express themselves as the different archetypes and meanings of the tarot cards of the major and minor arcana of traditional Tarot.

The Hermit is portrayed by English Tarot Teacher and witch, Marcus Katz meditating in a stone circle in Northern England. The Magician is a dancing Voodoo priest in Haiti with a snake around his neck. The High Priestess is an American Witch dancing around a fire in meditation in Fort Lauderdale. The Empress is a group of woman from very young to very old discussing the importance of female and child empowerment during a woman’s village meeting in Nepal.
The 78 cards are slightly bigger than traditional tarot cards (3.5x5 inch or 89x127mm) and printed on premium heavyweight 330 GSM card stock (and once we reach our first stretch goal, it will be 400GSM). Each deck will come with a 70 pages booklet explaining the story of the scene, the country, the people featured in it, and the meaning of each card. There will be a section explaining how to get acquainted with the cards and a suggested tarot spread to find your hidden talents and life purpose with the deck.

THE TOWER: As the archetype of destruction, The Tower Card is a spiritual rebirth that can hurt deeply at first. The old is destroyed and makes room for new. If we resist change and grasp onto people or things no longer meant for us because we don't believe we can make it on our own, loosing it all can be the best thing that ever happens to us. If we flow with it, we can get sudden realisations and be gifted with upheaval and healing. If we resist this change, it will bring unexpected difficulties, create unnecessary suffering, anxiety and stress and it can lead to profound shock.

The real life moment I chose to depict this card is a moment from the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010. A man resting on the debris of his fallen house in the city of Port-au-Prince. Many parts of the capital city Port-au-Prince were destroyed. The earthquake brought a lot of difficulties to the people but it also brought a sense of union that the people of Haiti had rarely felt before. After destruction comes creation. This is the natural cycle of life.
The Tower in a Life’s Purpose Reading: Without you, there wouldn't be any advancement or progress. You know what you want and you go for it. You have a drive and passion to reach your desires. But at the same time you know that the creation process always ends in destruction once the creation has become a prison in one form or another. Life is giving you plenty of lessons teaching you to let go and the more you learn this lesson, the more you are naturally teaching it to others. You are a catalyst of change that shows others the truth.

THE SUN: As the archetype of the light The Sun Card represents our inner power, vitality and happiness. The innocence of the child is combined with the wisdom of age. This will reconnect us to the joy of life, universal trust and boundless energy flow. If we connect to the power of the sun, it will brighten any day.

The real life moment I chose to portray this card is a daily life scene from the San Blas islands in Panama where indigenous people live a traditional life with just a few modern influences. Children are playing in total innocence being fully aware of their inner power and light.
The Sun in a Life’s Purpose Reading: The innocence of the child shines through your eyes in everything that you do. You are here to learn how to spread joy and happiness to yourself and others. And you are also here to learn that the expression of all emotions is important. You will truly learn this for yourself first and then teach it the world by living as an example. By reconnecting to your childlike nature you remember how good it feels to release tension while crying intensely or screaming in anger and once the tension is out of your system you can easily return to your natural state of joy.

THE MOON: Being the archetype of the dark, The Moon Card brings a new level of consciousness, shows the depth of our feelings and reconnects us with our intuition and inner magic. It reminds us that nothing is truly constant and invites us to explore the land of our feelings. Darkness may be scary at times but the light of the moon lights the way. Follow it. Shine your light of consciousness into your own unconscious darkness and you will see that it becomes much less scary.

The photograph I chose to incarnate The Moon Card is a magical moment at a witchcraft ritual in Keswick, England. Five adults and one child got together to celebrate and honour the elements, god and the goddess.

It might scare you at first but once you shine your light into the darkness, you will see the beauty that is found at the bottom of each ocean and you will share your discoveries with others. The three of water in the Voice Of The Earth Tarot Deck is represented by a daily life scene from Cite Soleil in Haiti. Two boys who went out to collect water for their families nearby are dancing in a fountain of water and celebrating the little beautiful moments found in daily life.
The Three Of Water in a Life’s Purpose Reading: Celebration is what you came to this earth for. Connection, laughter, dancing, sharing and joy is what lights up your soul. This life is teaching you how to let go of everything to lighten up your load and get into the flow of life. This card in your life’s purpose reading does not mean that everything in your life feels like a celebration or you have only happy moments. It means that in this lifetime you will learn to dance to the rhythms of life’s challenges, learn how to change your outlook on things and let go, so that everything mundane such as a walk out in nature can be turned into a celebration of life.

The Gift of Life Tarot Deck, booklet, box and all extra rewards are fully designed and ready to go into production once funded! There are no risks or challenges with timing on that end, and if the campaign is fully funded at the end of October, everything will be ready to move full speed ahead.
This is the estimated timeline:

After two fully funded and fulfilled crowdfunding campaigns (one tarot deck and one documentary movie), we know the challenges that come with fulfilling all the orders in time.
