Extra, Extra! Read All About It!
"The one, the only, the Great Houdini Dies!"
"Death ends career of King of Magic!"
So read the headlines on November 4th, 1926. The day that Houdini's spirit wandered the stage of the Garrick Theatre - the venue of his last performance. He's not expecting much. After all, he's dead. But the scruffy young runaway he encounters is not. Not yet, anyway. Unless Harry can convince him to change his ways.
From a backyard circus in the slums of New York, to a royal command performance in London, England, one boy takes a magical journey through the mind of the world's most celebrated illusionist.
And becomes the greatest challenge Houdini ever knew.

What We Need & What You Get
"The Great Houdini" is an homage to the most regarded magician in history, and WRCP's most ambitious project to date. Here's a little breakdown for you:
- The bulk of the budget will go into post production - a magical undertaking in itself. Sound Design, Sound Effects, ADR, Foley, and hours upon hours of editing. The original music is also in need of some serious TLC, as it was recorded on a Frankenstein's Monster of a keyboard almost two decades ago. Enhancing Mark Galliher's perfectly haunting score is an essential ingredient to this particular recipe's success.
- Stipends for our incredible actors. These phenomenally talented folks have thusfar given all their time voluntarily, and we'd love to offer them at least a little something for the energy and passion they've given to this production.
- The prizes! We've created some pretty awesome merchandise, at which we hope you'll to take a gander. A small percentage of our funding will help defray the costs of The Great Houdini's swag.
The Impact
WRCP's inaugural production, Mousetrap ~ A Love Story, was released back in April of 2016. A friend of mine (a lovely lady in her mid 70's) approached me after she watched and listened to our little offering, and told me how much the experience meant to her. She had tears in her eyes as she recalled memories of gathering around the radio with her family, and that Mousetrap brought her back to those simpler, much loved times.
How awesome would it be for WRCP to be able to reach more people, tell more stories, and offer our brand of comfort to a weary world? Pretty awesome.

Risks & Challenges
This production is simpatico with Harry Houdini's M.O.; overcoming challenges. Any creative endeavor is fraught with unforeseen obstacles - stuff one can't even imagine until it actually happens. Getting over that hurdle, even working WITH that hurdle, is an innate ability learned only through years of experience.
As producer, I should mention I hold a PhD in Overcoming Challenges - a degree issued by Real World U. Several of my productions have gone from start to finish by applying skills I've learned from years in the literary, theatrical, and cinematic trenches.
Of course there is no guarantee for success. But going for it is half the fun.
Other Ways You Can Help
We're offering Perks beginning at $10, but we understand that sometimes even ten dollars can be an awful lot of money. If you aren't able to contribute financially, then a simple Copy, Paste and Share with someone you think may be interested would mean a ton.
Whatever your situation may be, all of us at WRCP appreciate that you've read this far. And, as always, thank you!
