Wait, what?

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Elias Inaty and I've grown up in Lutz Florida for the greater part of the last 17 years of my life. And all I want to do is save the house I grew up in. Here's what you need to know.

  • I'm 22 and a student at the FSU's College of Motion Picture Arts in Tallahassee, Florida. And I'm here to do what I do best, try to make a movie out of a crap situation.
  • If there's one place in the world I feel I can always come back to it's my childhood home just north of Tampa, Florida. And now that I run the risk of losing it, I'm doing everything in my power to save it.
  • My family and I got here through crazy means and letting the house go now would be devastating. It's a piece of us and losing it would be like losing a family member
  • It's a long shot, but I have to do something. If you've ever had a safehaven, a little piece of paradise where you could hate everything in the world but what was within a 10ft radius of you, then you know how badly I need your help.

So What do you need and what's it to me?

If you contribute you'll be part of so much more than just making me smile (possibly permanently)

  • The funds will go towards saving my home and overcoming the RIDICULOUS debt that this house has built up. All the while, I'll be shooting a film that chronicles my journey to loving this home. In my youth, I was a little shit who didn't appreciate how much this place meant to me and now I'm just trying to hold onto my little piece of Eden before it gets stripped away.

By contributing you are simultaneously propelling the story of this home through the eyes of a filmmaker AND becoming a part of the piece of art my house will become. If you contribute, expect to have your name or mark LITERALLY engraved into the very walls of my home. It's the least I could do for anyone who helps me keep my home. You will be invited to join in the engraving process and become a part of the transformation of making my house into a piece of art I'll never have to let go.

 But why trust me?

That's tough to say. But in my 2 and a half years of film school I've been a part of over 70 projects ranging from short films, to documentaries, to music videos, to even a couple features. I've been a part of award winning shorts and continue to make films through the summer and plan to for all my life.

Film is a passion and this project has fostered more from me than anything else I've worked on, which is a combination I can't wait to present to you all.

Other Ways You Can Help

Help spread the word or contact me personally. In this rough economy, I'm sure there are means I haven't tapped into that could save my home. So any help from that end would be phenomenal

I know you may have more questions

But so do I and I'm just trying to figure out the best way to inform the audience. If you have any questions you'd like answered please let me know. I'm going to make an FAQ video soon to catch people up with questions that include:

"How did you get here?"
"How can I believe your documentary will be any good?"
"Isn't this basically a handout begging for free money?"
"What makes you different from any other home in America losing their house?"
"Why does you video look like crap? Aren't you supposed to be a film student?"
"Have you tried contacting attorneys or loan officers?"

And a whole hellavu lot more. Like I said, I'm only learning about this today, so I'm still playing catch up. Be patient with me and I promise it will be worth the ride.
