About Mouse Writer
The MouseWriter is a pen designed for the millions of people throughout the world who are unable to hold a traditional writing instrument. The patent has been applied for: the trademark and the design have been registered.
Any new design needs to be tested by potential end-users before production is entered into. In this instance the prototype I produced on a 3D printer was initially tested by one Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferer; feedback was positive. As time passed, I was contacted by more people who had heard of my idea via third parties (see the sketch on my website). Everyone who contacted me received a prototype (labouriously produced on a 3D printer) by return, They, in turn, reported back that the pen was a boon to either themselves or friends or family.
I have a business plan with all costings, the moulding tool engineering drawing, and the means of manufacture ready to go as soon as funding hits target. I plan to sell the pen through medical companies, retail outlets, and, of course, the internet. On the subject of the internet, my website is www.mousewriter.com
The Mouse Writer is totally different to anything else on the market with regard to writing instruments, therefore one of the biggest risks was that I could have been spending time and money on patents, design, and logo registrations for a product that the public may not accept, or may not want or need. I took the plunge, invested in a 3D tutorial, bought myself a printer, produced a prototype, and tested it.
The short term reception of my idea was excellent. I never once approached anyone to test my product, yet people were contacting me to ask for a Mouse Writer. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. It was at that point that I decided to aim to produce the product professionally,
The challenge with the Mouse Writer is to get it to market without any historical records to give me an insight into said market. However, I do know, via Google and other sources, that the number of persons worldwide who can not grip a traditional pen is in the millions, and growing. Those figures, combined with the acceptance of the prototypes, and my past experience in industry, is my incentive.
I am fully ready to go, as and when the funding is made available. A weekly update would be posted to all investors
