The Red Ribbon story is an original short story, written and produced by Araby. There will be two outcomes for this film, the first will be a version of the film that can be played on DVD’s and on screens whereas the second will be for a live event in which there will be a live soundtrack provided. The aim of this is to take songwriting back to where it started which was storytelling.
This story tells of an lonely old man in a pub who spends most all of his time people watching and drawing. He befriends and younger man, and tries to help him through the issues that he is having in his personal life.
The two main actors have already been cast, first there is John Atkinson who shall play the ‘Old man’ and then there is Andreas Constantinou who shall play ‘Guy’.
Why I need your help:
To start with I need to be able to pay the actors for putting their time and effort into this production, from the rehearsals to the shooting. Plus I will need to provide food for them for the long days of shooting as well as travel expenses.
Other expense will be the props & costumes & set design.
I will also need to purchase a RODE VideoPro Mic that will cost £125. This will enable us to have a much clearer audio compared to the built in mic on the camera. And the dialogue of this story is very important, so this will be a key aspect of the shoot, this mic will allow us to record some very clear audio.
I will also need to purchase a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Zoom Lens.
This will cost little over £100 and will enable us do so much more with the shots. What you are watching now is some of the test shots, during which, the current fixed focal lens proved difficult in achieving our desired aesthetic, where as the EF-S Zoom lens would enable us to achieve better shots and create a over all higher quality of film.
