THE ROMULAN WAR ("TRW") is a Star Trek fan film production which documents the plight of humanity as it faces extinction at the hands of the Romulan Empire in the 22nd century.

THE ROMULAN WAR saga is based on the Star Trek universe created by Gene Roddenberry and documents the historic event leading to the creation of the United Federation of Planets... the war between Earth and the Romulan Empire!
Captain's logs, eyewitness video, journal entries, and period photographs combine with "found footage" of the war's key conflicts to realistically depict a world where mankind's very survival is at stake.
THE ROMULAN WAR vividly embraces the entire sweep of the 22nd century's most devastating war, covering the battles in space, on alien worlds, and on the home fronts of both Earth and Romulus. These are the heroic adventures of captain and cadet alike that ultimately leads to the formation of the Federation!

The events of THE ROMULAN WAR take place in the"prime" Star Trek universe from the years 2155-2161, and is our interpretation of what seasons 5-7 of Star Trek: Enterprise could have been if that series had continued.
From the ambush of Salem One to the Battle of Cheron, THE ROMULAN WAR tells the stories of heroism and courage alongside tales of loss and brutality which affected countless millions, including:
- The attack on Starbase One which serves as the Pearl Harbor-like catalyst which thrusts humanity into a war against the militaristic and brutal Romulan Star Empire.
- The debut of a new enemy weapon which renders Earth and Coalition ships unable to resist the Romulans.
- The political intrigue surrounding Earth's struggle to hold the Coalition of Planets together while the Romulan Praetor consolidates power by crushing his political adversaries.
- The harrowing story of Earth colonists who face torture and unthinkable medical experiments while under Romulan captivity.
- The tale of the Kobayashi Maru, which puts Captain Jonathan Archer into a no-win scenario that haunts him for the rest of his career.
- The Reman resistance movement and how their actions change the course of the war and Romulan society.
- The heroic last mission of Starship Challenger and how Captain Stiles' actions saved the Andorian homeworld from disaster.

- The story of how Earth's breakthroughs in engine, weapons, and computer technology led to the creation of Starfleet's first (and only) battleships: the Yorktowns.
- The true motivations for Romulus' war against Earth... the Praetor's near-religious quest to unlock an ancient alien technology which would allow the Romulans to conquer the entire galaxy.
- How the Battle of Cheron not only ended the war, but resulted in the creation of the Neutral Zone and began new talks that lead to the formation of the Federation we are all familiar with.

Even though most of our pre-production and principal photography has been completed (see the section on "Sets" below), our team needs your help to complete our mission!

Our Goal is $10,000. Primarily the campaign will fund the remaining principal photography as well as editing, visual effects modeling & animation, film score, ADR, and other post-production expenses.
Our Perks Are Unique. We respect the CBS fan film guidelines about making a profit off of their IP, so extravagant perks are being replaced by unique items like posters, digital downloads, and extra digital content that is accessible only to backers. Contributors at certain levels will be able to lend their voice to the production, get their name in the credits, and even appear ON CAMERA in a role we will write just for you!
