As an indigenous filmmaker from the Karakoram range, Hunza valley Nadeem has struggled to develop a concept of authentic visual semiotics of Hunzai cinema that the people of the northern region can call their own. By making films on stories from Hunza Valley that reflect its culture at the same time preserves/ archives both vanishing nature and rituals using the medium of film.

Both Maham and Nadeem have worked tirelessly to develop the script and visual concepts of this web series, The Secrets of Karakoram.
Nadeems' films have been showcased in many countries worldwide at film festivals, including the Al-Nahj film festival in Iran, where his film won the Jury prize in 2019. In the last few years, he has been selected for Goethe Film Talent ii, Film South Asia, and Vasl art association for a short film grant which has helped him delve deeper into the mysteries of his region and create stories.
However, due to a lack of financial backing, we have been unable to reach our full potential and do our stories justice. This time we have decided to use Indiegogo to crowdfund to create our first 40-minute episode, The Wedding Ceremony of Male and Female Glacier. This episode will be later used as a pilot to get a streaming platform on board so we can take this project further.
