The Flood ...

For over a decade, the Mobtown Players has produced classical and contemporary theater, including numerous world premieres, from our home in the Meadow Mill building in Baltimore. On April 30, heavy rains caused the Jones Falls, which runs past Meadow Mill, to overflow, flooding the building and rendering our theater unusable.

We lost our performance space in the midst of rehearsing our final show of the season, Thomas Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy, an Elizabethan revenge drama that profoundly influenced Shakespeare's Hamlet. We also lost many of our lights, props, flats, and other set and technical elements.

Mobtown remains committed to producing The Spanish Tragedy, but we need your help to succeed.

What We Need & What You Get

We were fortunate to secure a new venue: The Great Hall at St. Mary's Outreach Center, a former church that houses a wonderful Elizabethan-style stage. To help us cover the cost of renting the space and other production expenses, we are looking to raise $3000.

We believe this show is emblematic of Mobtown's mission to produce classic theater with a contemporary twist, and we cannot wait to share it with you. Each person who donates $15, or the cost of a ticket, will receive one ticket to any performance of The Spanish Tragedy. Donate $30 and receive two tickets; donate $45, and receive three tickets; etc.
