Overview
For the last year we have been developing a unique immersive experience. A diverse group of actors portray civil rights activists and artists who invite you to attend a gathering in 1961 at the peak of the struggle. Unbeknownst to them, it is a night when history will be made.

The new incarnation of the immersive theatre company Island Shakespeare.

The Summer I Disappeared  is a keen reminder of the sacrifice hundreds of women and men from all walks of life made for the cause of civil rights.

Our fundraising goals are modest, but imperative. Performing at two universities, Cambridge, MA and New York City with a large cast requires substantial resources.

Your contribution is an unequivocal statement that you believe, as we do, that the sacrifice of the Freedom Riders shall not be vain.
