ADVENTURE TRAVEL NEEDED A BETTER PACK
A system that could take us way off the grid and deep into new cities. Something more comfortable and nimble, and loaded with tested features. In other words, a pack that goes where other “travel packs” only dream of.
So, we made it.
Introducing the Allpa 35L: a rugged, 35-liter backpack system built for adventure travel. This pack is perfectly sized for carry-on convenience, loaded with well-designed features, and tough enough to handle years of hard use.

The foundation of the Allpa is its unique, load-supporting suspension we adopted from our backpacking packs. This provides the comfort and support necessary for nimble travel, in addition to increasing security in high-traffic areas. Hand-held duffels and roller bags just can’t compete.

The Allpa features a sleek, 35L shape that stows into overhead bins, trunks, and buses with ease. The material is a tough TPU-coated 1000D polyester, with durable 1680D ballistic nylon paneling. We designed the pack without outer pockets, exposed buckles, pockets, and straps for good reason, knowing that these features often snag and get in the way while on the move.

With the pack splayed open, you’ll see that the left and right sides offer ample room for the bulkof your gear. We added one large zippered mesh compartment on the right for clothing and soft, moldable items, and then subdivided the left side with two small zippered pockets along the top and a central zippered mesh divider below to access the cavernous compartment underneath.

In terms of security, all external zippers feature our theft-proof webbing sewn across the openings. There’s also a sewn-in carabiner loop on the hip belt’s webbing to lock the pack to bus rails or a fixed point.

Like our Nazca, we designed the Allpa with a slotted back panel to house the shoulder straps and hip belt, ensuring loose ends are a nonissue at the baggage claim, on the bus, or in the trunk of taxis. Top, side, and bottom grab handles provide multiple carry points while the shoulder straps are tucked away.

Once you’ve arrived at your destination, there’s even a stowable daypack that deploys for fast- and-light daytrips, hikes, and other excursions that demand a smaller, lighter pack. So, why’s it so colorful? Each Batac is part of our Del Día collection, meaning that it’s made from sections of remnant fabric.![]()

In the Quechua language, Allpa means earth, terrain, the elements, land and the sea. We saw this name fitting for our new travel pack, as the adventurous spirit that pushes us to get out, explore, and do good in the world is the driving ethos behind Cotopaxi.
At its core, the Allpa Travel Pack is the result of years spent traveling, testing, and refining our proven-in-the-wild Cotopaxi designs. We took this real-world feedback and funneled it into a backpack format, knowing that the Allpa would be directed to those of us who prefer the support and comfort provided by backpacking packs’ harness systems. Having contoured shoulder straps, a proper hip belt, sternum strap, and fully padded airmesh back panel as its foundation serves several key purposes. First, it eliminates the bulky roller wheels, hard bottoms, and telescoping handles plaguing many “travel bags,” and second, it ensures your gear remains supported via the system we adopted from our load-toting backpacking packs. Additionally, if your pack is physically strapped to your body, security is heightened while moving through crowded areas compared to hand-held duffels and roller bags.

When Cotopaxi first launched, we built an in-house program that would give us the flexibility to research, develop, and produce short runs of experimental product. That was the beginning of Cotopaxi Labs. Today, the Labs project gives us an opportunity to develop products that perfectly fit the crowdfunding model and allows us to reach a broader outdoor audience.

FAQ
I’m leaving for some amazing adventure in August, can I get my backpack before then?
Unfortunately, no. July units have already been sold to the earliest backers and our next shipment will arrive in September. Your pack will be delivered in the date estimated in your perk.
Is the Allpa Waterproof?
No, the Allpa is water resistant. While the TPU material that covers the majority of the pack is technically waterproof, there are seams which make it not waterproof. That’s why we’ve included a rain cover with each Allpa.
What size laptop does the Allpa fit?
Any 15 inch laptop should fit comfortably.
Can we expect to see more Allpa colors in the future?
Yes, but for this Indiegogo campaign Black and Blue are the two choices.
Will I get to select the colors for my Batac 16L Daypack?
The Batac 16L Daypack will arrive to your door a total surprise. That’s the beauty of the Del Día colorway. To learn more about the remnant fabric used and how we are working with the sewers to give them creative control, check out this video
Will you be selling the Batac separately?
Yes, we will eventually have it online at cotopaxi.com and in our retail store.
I accidentally chose the wrong color Allpa. How do I change it?
Want to change the color of your Allpa? You'll be able to change your color is during the survey that will come at the end of the campaign. We keep an eye on our inventory to know how many packs we’re able to offer with each perk, but know there will be some that may change their mind in the end in terms of color. If you have any questions, please email us at llamas@cotopaxi.com. For FAQ’s on claiming perks, please see https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/526766-How-do-I-claim-a-Perk-.
