Short Summary
About us:
We are final year Film Production Technology/Film Technology and Visual Effects students from Birmingham City University, UK. The diversity in our team is phenomenal, consisting people from India, United Kingdom, Lithuania and Ireland. Coming from different parts of the world we are sharing diverse ideas and putting them together to make an original qualitative piece of work!
This is the world they live in...
The action drama is based in the near future. Due to low economy, an extremely high number of convicts have lead to prisons being overcrowded. In order to keep the order, the government have passed a new law. It states that highly convicted prisoners can choose whether they want to spend their lives in prison or sign their lives off and become modern gladiators for crowd's entertainment. Years have passed, crime rate dropped drastically. The whole situation became nothing more than a corrupt money making source.
Plot:
The action is based around the main character Mark who was given a life sentence for drunk driving and killing his wife in the car accident. Months have passed, he became a well known fighter for his unique fighting style and ability to take person's life without much hesitation. Struggling through his physical and mental challenges he has gained people's respect and became a champion of a prison. The time has come for Mark's last fight. Will his sins be "redeemed"..?
Time to show the world what we are made of!This film is a direct message to the world showing how passionate, skilled and original we are. With a production starting in a few days, we have already bought half of the props including make-up and prison uniforms. However, the biggest investment is still ahead of us. Your contribution would be used to get every single item needed and fulfill the idea to it's maximum!

The Impact
We have taken a big responsibility to make an action drama that will include multiple difficult fighting choreographies. It makes us the first group within the university to do something as complicated. The main impact of this project is for motivated, talented people that are making it happen. They are the future of entertainment industry, working beyond their potential for this project to happen.
Risks & Challenges
Practice makes perfect
We are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful casting crew in our film. A big thank you goes to our talented friends who have agreed to act and stunt-coordinate the project. After BCU has kindly lent us 8 judo mats for practicing, experienced fighters and martial artists, Matthew Johnston and Martins Sevels were putting together and rehearsing multiple difficult fighting sequences twice a week for the past month. They have choreographed some absolutely amazing fighting sequences. Time has come for us to transfer them on the big screen!
Collaboration is essential!
As we are a group of only five people and have a giant project on our shoulders it was important to collaborate with other skilled people. Sound Engineering Technology and Specialist Hair and Media Make-up students happily agreed to help us out, rising the quality of the film even higher.
An original soundtrack is being written at the moment with a recording estimated to take place in late March. Get ready to rock!
Other Ways You Can Help
Even if you cannot chip in, please share this with your friends. The more noise we make the better it is!
Peace!
