We're a group of young filmmakers from around the country who have come together in our respective roles to make our first independent film in LA. Every one of us behind THREE DAYS not only believes passionately about the film, but has moved out to this crazy city to pursue our filmmaking careers. Whether we want to write, produce, direct, shoot, edit, act and so on, this film is our first opportunity to take those skills and put them on the screen. We know we can make a great film, a film you will enjoy, but we need your help to make it all happen.
The Film
After a missed encounter on his morning commute, a middle-aged man attempts to reconnect with a woman from his past; telling the story of how the two were whimsical, young lovers married for three days in 1989.
Our Work
ANOMALY was a senior thesis film that went on to play in ten festivals throughout the country.
Made as a junior thesis film, PROFILE was a semi-finalist in the 2012 Student Academy Award competition.
After a successful year-long festival run, OUT quickly found its way circulating the web, becoming a featured video on multiple LGBT sites and pages.
The Filmmakers
John Swansiger is the Co-Writer and Director of Three Days. Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, John fell in love with filmmaking at 6 years old after "borrowing" his parents' VHS camera to make movies around the neighborhood. Having graduated in 2012 from Wright State University, John moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream career. Currently, John works in TV Development as an assistant at Objective Productions. Over the past few years, John has written and directed three short films (Profile, Anomaly and Out).
The producer of Three Days, Christopher Tung is a Dayton, Ohio native. Chris graduated from Wright State University in 2012 and moved to Los Angeles after receiving an offer to work on the CBS show, Big Brother. Recently, Chris has produced numerous short films, and used his photography in advertising campaigns. He now works on the show, The Millers for CBS as the 1st Assistant Production Accountant, working towards his goal of being a producer.
Mike Leavitt hails from a small town north of Boston called Winchester, MA. He graduated from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 2012 and moved to Los Angeles shortly after to pursue a career in writing. He currently works in television development & current programming at All3media America. One day, Mike was doing what all normal people do in their spare time, perusing the Best of Craiglist, when he stumbled upon the missed connection “We were married for three days in 1989, and I saw you on the subway – m4w.” Over beers later that week, he brought it to John’s attention and they ended up adapting and co-writing the script for Three Days.
Producer Jessi Howard grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and has worked on multiple projects including ten feature films, a reality television series, major commercials and several short films. Jessi attended Miami University for three years where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Strategic Communication, while simultaneously working with the CW Network and an NBC affiliate in Ohio. Two weeks after graduation, Jessi moved west and began persuing the career that would forever change her life.
Co-Producer David Beaver was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and it was there where he developed his passion for filmmaking. In the spring semester of his senior year at the University of Delaware, David left school early and teamed up with his high school pal Charlie McDermott, to help produce their first feature film. Shortly after, David moved to Los Angeles where he befriended John and Mike at All3Media America. Since then, David has moved back east to further pursue other career opportunities and now works as an associate producer at Bowstring Studios in Philadelphia.
Christopher Flanery, the Director of Photography on Three Days, currently lives in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio shooting promos for small businesses and mastering motion control time lapsing. Along with serving as the Director of Photography on Profile, Anomaly and Out, Chris has several years of experience in the camera department as a camera assistant and operator.
