The Documentary

The documentary will focus on three main aspects of transhumanism:

• Super wellbeing - The implementation of technology to enhance the human body's functionality.
• Super intelligence - Using tech to evolve the mind and combine it with computers.
• Super longevity - The transhumanist goal of elongating life and even overcoming death.

These goals are not abstractions. From college students to Ph.D.'s, this movement is spreading through all walks of life but has been largely unnoticed by the media. We will highlight the leaders and achievements in the field.

Licensed surgeons seldom participate in transhumanist experiments, so tech-based body modifications are often self-performed. Our crew will get an intimate look at the deeply personal process of self-performed body modification.

With the conclusion of the 2016 election cycle, this project couldn't be any more timely. For the first time in history, a Transhumanist Party candidate made an official run for president. While largely unheard of now, this movement will be making headlines in the next decade. Our project will serve as the definitive film for this generation of the movement. 

Where will the money go?

• We are limiting ourselves to a core two-person crew that will remain unpaid unless the film makes money on release. We already have the cameras, but we need to buy high-tech equipment to get the best picture, sound, and lighting possible.

• This is an international movement. The more we raise, the farther we can travel and the more people and experiments we can see.

• We will self-edit the film, but need to hire services for animation, high-end color correction, and other enhancements to make this a theater-quality movie.

• The more money we have left over, the greater number of film festivals, press coverage, and distribution platforms we can access.

Transhumanism is in the early stages of existence. Without the world paying attention now, historians may struggle to cover this topic if it develops enough to change the world some day. This film is more than a snapshot; it may be the first draft of history for the future of the human race.

We understand the risks and challenges implicit in a large project such as this one. As experienced filmmakers and journalists, we plan to see this project through.

Risks include:

• Running out of money: Making a film is expensive.  If we start the film with a deflated budget, certain aspects of production may be consolidated. 
• Experimental technology: We are covering a topic that's hardly been covered before. While we are unafraid, there's always a risk to the filmmakers when covering experimental technology. Having made news stories in dangerous situations including lethal weaponry, this is something we're accustomed to and completely prepared for.
