The first time we managed to pair two of our prototypes in stereo was an inspirational moment in our lives. We were instantly brought back to that common childhood memory of a first big rock concert.

Most portables that pair together only do so in mono. Some brag that you can daisy-chain multiple units (more than 2 together) and that would somehow be awesome. What a waste.

Turtlebox is different. It distinctly separates your left and right channels. This not only means you get double the sound power, but you get an incredibly realistic sound experience. You don’t want a daisy chain. You want real stereo sound. You want 2 boxes in stereo, well separated, and you want them loud.

Turtlebox uses an advanced sound frequency curve that’s specifically designed to cut through wind and travel distance. This means your crystal-clear music will blast through raging storms and over hundreds of yards without a problem.

One thing we’ve observed along the way is most other portables boast of “omnidirectional” sound (speaker placement on all sides of unit) and have touted its superiority. We’ve found that to be false in an outdoor environment. Half the sound generated by omnidirectional speakers is lost in the wind - all that audio power is wasted.

You rarely put your sound source in the middle of the action - the reality is you put it to the side and fire it at the action. You want all of that power directed toward the listener.

Not only is Turtlebox loud, it’s powerfully durable. Waterproof, dust-proof, and shockproof, Turtlebox can stand whatever abuse you throw at it.

IP67 Water Ingress Protection Rating means Turtlebox is completely sealed from water and dust. You can throw Turtlebox in a pool, drop it in a lake, wash it off with a jet hose, and it’ll still play loud and clear.

From the beginning, we took the road and the attitude that the housing is every bit as important in the outdoor experience as the electronics. All the housing we encountered were either too heavy or too light and used bad material choices.

Yes, the box needs to be extremely tough. But the box should also be well-shaped, and not easily snagged. It shouldn’t hold water, anywhere. Mud and sand should hose right off.

It needs to be well weighted - not too light, where it tips over with any movement, but not too heavy either. It needs a central center of gravity, where you can put it on its back the same as its feet.

The box should be UV resistant and not fade in the sun. It needs to be slip resistant and have a grippy handle.

And it should be built with very few pieces.

Turtlebox hardware is made of stainless steel - making it not just strong but incredibly corrosion resistant. It’s able to handle saltwater, sand and whatever else nature has to offer.

We use a 2 piece shell loaded with UV inhibitor that features non-slip rubber feet, a rubber handle, and a strong ABS skeleton.

We took painstaking detail to perfect the look and strength of every piece in and out of Turtlebox. It can take a beating and still be ready for your next adventure.

Turtlebox is approximately the size and shape of a classic lunchbox. We wanted the biggest speaker we could get with the lowest center of gravity, period.

The size and weight ratio was strategically engineered to deliver excellent portability, without sacrificing substance.

Too many portable speakers lack the size and weight required to deliver the full sound. When you pick up Turtlebox, you will immediately know you are holding something substantial.

You are getting a big-magnet speaker - able to give you big sound - and you are getting a lightweight portable, able to bring on all your trips. Our 8 lb weigh-in is truly ideal.

Need to strap Turtlebox down? No problem. We understand the need to have booming speakers strapped to the hood of your 4Wheeler - so we included built-in tie-down anchors on Turtlebox so you can strap it to virtually anything.

Tie it to your canoe, ranger, airboat, bull, or whatever else you can think of. We designed it to fit any standard tie-down strap that you can buy from your local hardware store.

Turtlebox boasts a 20+ hour long continuous playtime at 50% volume (still louder than many portables at max volume) with its rechargeable battery. We call this volume level “tailgate”. Everyone in a 50 person tailgate can hear it perfectly.

We have had many max-volume longevity tests done, and honestly, it really depends on the music you test, but rock n’ roll routinely plays 6+ hours on our battery at an insanely loud max volume.

Though the length varies depending on what you play, the 15,600 mAh/57.7 watt-hour built-in lithium ion 6-cell battery pack is a great capacity/weight choice and plays all day long when you need it to.

Have you noticed how many portables need an instruction book? It’s crazy. Buttons all over the thing and even hidden buttons. We created the functionality of Turtlebox to be as simple as possible.

The box is simple and straightforward. You will always be able to understand what the box is doing, and what state it is in. The buttons are all in one place. The panel is intuitive. And the Bluetooth pairing sequence is as easy as pushing a button.

No fancy tricks, confusing buttons, or complicated screens. Our Bluetooth 4.0 connects automatically to your Bluetooth linked device up to 100 ft away.

If you prefer the higher fidelity of an auxiliary input, you can bypass the Bluetooth connectivity by simply plugging in an aux cord to our classic 3.5mm input.

We specifically designed and engineered Turtlebox to be the best outdoor speaker in the world. We did it.

We’re 4 best friends doing life together - canoeing the bayou, sailing in the bay, camping on the weekends.  We love music and high-quality gear. But when it came to a speaker that could keep up with our lifestyle - nothing got the job done.

Portable Bluetooth speakers broke easily and weren’t nearly loud enough, while “outdoor” speakers were uber durable, but sounded terrible. We needed a clear sounding, loud as a foghorn Bluetooth speaker that was also waterproof and strong. So we created Turtlebox.

We built the first Turtlebox in our garage - it was a waterproof case with a marine-grade 6x9 speaker mounted to the front and a car amplifier and motorcycle battery inside.  

It was something no-one had ever seen or heard. Everywhere we went, people wanted to know about it. We knew we had something special.

So we began ruthlessly testing speakers, batteries, amplifiers, switches, and Bluetooth modules. We spent over 10,000 grinding hours making sure every detail performed powerfully. We bought, sold, strained, pushed, stretched, dinked, and destroyed every portable speaker out there to make sure we could beat and exceed every single one outdoors.

If we were going to make a portable speaker, we wanted it to be the best outdoor speaker modern-day technology could offer.  After years of working with engineers from all over the world, we finally crafted a speaker we’re proud of.
