SOAR for Youth

SOAR for Youth is a non-profit organization.  Partnering with UC Berkeley we coach, teach, and counsel San Francisco Bay Area foster youth. We aim to help them graduate from high school, attend college, and succeed in life.

With sustained support from SOAR, most of our kids are performing well in school, but some struggle in specific subject areas, such as geometry and algebra.  They need 1-on-1 tutoring help. Without it they will not be able to graduate from high school. This campaign is to raise funds to hire tutors for these foster kids.  Your donations will make a life-long impact in their future.  Every dollar we raise will go directly to funding tutors for our students.

The Impact

Students in the foster care system have a very high drop out rate and very low graduation rate.  This is largely due to the enormous life challenges they face, including the need to repeatedly adjust to new living circumstances, the stress of numerous transfers from school to school, and the lack of support in pursuing higher education. However, these students can also be amazingly resilient when they receive academic and social support.
