'TWISTED PIECES' is an independent feature film, a dramatic thriller that pits a vengeful ex-soldier against the wits of a demonic surgeon who abducts people and sells specially preserved trophies - human pieces - to the highest bidder. Produced by RSQUARE, directed by Ryan Ellis and adapted to the screen by David Roy French from his novel RAVEN'S BLOOD.

WE DID IT!

We wrapped Principal Photography! And now we need your help to finish the movie. Our cast and crew are finished their work and we are thrilled to be now moving forward into POST-PRODUCTION. So please help us finish TWISTED PIECES and bring this dramatic thriller to the world!

This movie is a unique twist on the thriller genre with a great concept, script and cast. Adapted to the screen from the book 'Raven's Blood', the latest in the 'Raven' series by Roy French, 'Twisted Pieces' is a true thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat and glued to the screen. 

So many amazing people have already followed and supported our movie. That has meant so much to us. We are determined to complete the movie in a way to make all of you proud.

THE FILM-MAKER

RYAN ELLIS - PRODUCER & DIRECTOR

RYAN ELLIS is an accomplished film-maker, graduating from Toronto Film School in 2003 with top honours, then quickly producing and shooting music videos for artists like Snow, Beenie Man and Jhevon Paris. Producing as well as DOP on multiple short films including “The Great Ganalden”, “The Barber of Kigali”, “Schnapps”, “Go See Mommy” which played at Los Angeles, Boston International, Cambodian, Indie Film Jam, Orlando, Riverside Film Festivals, Ryan also worked as Cinematographer on several independent feature films including the drama “The Tenant” ('Best Cinematographer' Nomination, African Movie Academy Awards 2010) and the teen comedy “Nine Plus One”. He recently worked as Cinematographer on the feature drama "We Run These Streets". He directed the short film "Prospect" which was just accepted into the Cannes Film Festival.

THE WRITER

DAVID ROY FRENCH - PRODUCER & WRITER

DAVID ROY FRENCH is a screenplay writer and novelist producing thrillers that are best described as 'a wild ride'. Born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, Roy attended high school (notably with the famous actor Liam Neeson) at Ballymena Technical College. An Irish lad at heart, Roy has lived in Canada for 20 years yet visits 'home' often. His first published novel 'A SENSE OF HONOR' (now 'RAVEN’S HONOR') was 'Runner-Up Arthur Ellis Award - Best First Novel' (1992). An accomplished musician, Roy played lead guitar in a rock band ('Scrudriver'). He is also a member in good standing (so far) of 'Crime Writers of Canada'. Roy's day job is I.T. but the rest is dreams, blood and boiling sweat as he works on the latest volume in his 'RAVEN' series of books. Six have been published. The seventh in the series, 'RAVEN'S BLOOD', is soon to be published and with a twist: it has been adapted to the screen as 'TWISTED PIECES' which was shot in Toronto, Canada and is now entering post-production.

PRINCIPAL CAST

ROBERT NOLAN - 'THE DOCTOR'

ROBERT NOLAN is a versatile talent bringing his skills to the big screen, television and stage. Recent roles include the narrator of History TV’s wartime docudrama 'The Real Inglorious Bastards', a powerful doctor who reforms willful women in 'Silent Retreat' and a husband whose grief at his wife's untimely death becomes volcanic as it encounters life's daily aggravations in 'Mourning Has Broken'. He is an FBI agent who takes control of an alien crash on an isolated farm in 'The Picco Incident', a reluctant, humane zombie hunter in 'Sick', a husband whose thoughts may not be his own in the critically-acclaimed, award-winning 'Familiar', a desperate lab scientist in 'Canswer' and an uncertain bank robber in 'Battleground'. He plays four distinct roles as a man whose many lives return him to the bonds of the fiery underworld in the upcoming 'Tales From Hell'. Theatre roles include 'The Great Gatsby,' the lead in 'Bethune' and roles in 'Rebel Without a Cause' and 'Macbeth' and he is proud to be one of the cast of 'Out With Dad', a special web series that touches the lives of vulnerable youth finding themselves alone and desperate in an often hostile world. He has won several 'Best Actor' awards for a variety of roles.

RY BARRETT - 'JAKE PANOV'

RY BARRETT began his career as the lead character in the 2004 Alliance/Lions Gate horror-comedy release, 'Desperate Souls'. He has continued with a steady incline of intriguing roles ever since, following up in another Lions Gate release 'Psycho Ward', and the genre festival favorites, 'Dead Genesis' and 'If A Tree Falls'. Barrett then went on to play the role of the central character in the psychological thriller 'Neverlost' (Anchor Bay CAN/GEG U.S.), a role he received critical commendation for, as well as a 2011 Toronto International Film and Video Award (TIFVA) for Best Actor in a Feature. For his role in 'Neverlost', Ry lost 50lbs to better suit the character, and is known for his dedication and physical commitment to each and every role he takes on. In summer of 2008, Barrett again teamed with director and friend Gabriel Carrer. He developed, wrote, produced and starred in the indie horror success 'If A Tree Falls', which premiered summer 2010 at the Fantasia Int. Film Festival and was released internationally in various formats. Ry has written, directed and produced numerous music videos, features and short films.

SANDRA DA COSTA - 'KELLY BURKE'

 

SANDRA DaCOSTA sets the bar high, appearing in films screening in major festivals and garnering a number of awards over a variety of genres. Most recently 'MissD' landed the coveted lead role in the action/adventure film 'EPIC' which is currently in post-production and set for a 2014 release. Established in Season One, her role as 'Jane' in the popular web series 'The Swashbuckling Adventures of Pete Winning and The Pirates' was expanded to a  full principal regular role in Season Two and calls upon her to unleash an athletic, sexy, smart and charismatic character full of contrast and contradictions upon the dangerous world of 2035. She does her magic and will be kicking ass in Season Three. Sandra is an in-demand actress, works steadily and is gaining wide recognition for her talent and ability to work across genres in drama, horror and comedy. She's also highly trained in a variety of weaponry and taking bad men down which she does with skill and compassion injuring them as little as possible. But you still gotta get the job done.

JEFF SINASAC - 'MURPH'

JEFF SINASAC is one of Toronto's busiest actors. He got involved in acting from a very young age but it was after portraying Pseudolus in his high school production of 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' that he realized he wanted to make acting a career. He got his BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor, then moved to Toronto where he has starred in countless nationally and internationally screened shorts, features, music videos and television commercials. Recently his focus has been on the Toronto Web Series community, starring in 'Clutch', 'Asset' and 'Improbabilia' while appearing in 'Out With Dad', 'Out of Time' and 'Pete Winning and the Pirates'. Behind the camera, Jeff wrote and produced the visual effects thriller, 'Red Moon Over Rigger's Pond', and has worked on visual effects for such films as IMAX's 'Hubble 3D' and the independent feature 'Android Re-enactment'.

MADISON FERGUSON - 'NEICE'

MADISON FERGUSON, 9 years-old, was born in the small town of Alliston, Ontario. It was evident at a very young age that Madison not only loves to perform, but also enjoys the accolades that accompany performing in front of a crowd or on film. New to the Toronto acting scene, Madison continues to train in her craft with a Private Coach, to make her dream of becoming a full-time actress come true. She recently completed a principal role in the feature 'Berkshire County' and appears (with a heck of a throwing arm!) in the Christmas commercial 'Get it RIGHT with MattelI'. In her spare time, Madison is a typical student who loves music, attending Hip Hop lessons and spending time with her friends. And last, but certainly not least, she loves Justin Bieber.

BRIAN QUINTERO - 'YOUNG MAN'

BRIAN QUINTERO was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. A recent graduate of Seneca's College Acting for Camera & Voice program (2013), he performed at the The Toronto Fringe Festival (2013) in "The Servant of Two Masters" and in Summerworks Festival (2013) "Camila's Bones". In addition to the stage, Brian has worked in several shorts, commercials and independent films.
