I am Alex Rivera, director and producer of "Unchained", a documentary about Elephants in captivity with the special collaboration of Carol Buckley (Founder of Elephant Aid International and co-founder of the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee, USA).
This documentary is ready to be shown to the public and should be distributed as widely as possible to reach as many audience better.
How is it possible that today still existing in the world, in both West and East, where elephants or any other living being are treated in this way.
It is not acceptable that the vast majority of society look the other way.
It is unacceptable that not acquire a strong commitment by governments and organizations to inform the public of what really happens when animals are used for mere entertainment of human beings.
It is not possible for us to travel to an exotic country, do use and misuse of what is there and we do not worry about what actually happens. And even worse than this happens when we go to a circus near home.
There is nothing that can become real if it is not perceived by our senses, if we do not see, hear, or feel what is happening.
Unchained is a project that starts with the premise of bringing to people the reality of what happens when abusively, the human being is able to make use and abuse of animals, elephants in this case, for enrichment, sustenance and entertainment of people.
It is necessary to show, teach reality, make you feel uncomfortable, to thereby encourage movement, awareness, and show that there are other ways of relating to animals and care for the environment in which we live.
