Usher Summary
Hello, I'm Joel White, the writer/director of Usher, and I love films, filmmaking, and the effect that great storytelling can have on people. Usher has been a passion project of mine for a while now and I'm so excited to really get the ball rolling and capture this story on camera. Here's a brief overview of the plot:
Synopsis
Jake is an usher at a movie theater. He gives insight as to what it’s like to be a part of creating an enjoyable movie going experience. There are good times times to be had at the theater, but Jake has to find a way to balance the dramas of growing up, while pursuing his passions. Ultimately, he has to decide if chasing after his dreams is a worthwhile way to live.
Campaign
This film is important to me for many reasons. I want to tell an original story, something that hasn't been overdone. This story comes from personal experience and brings with it characters and situations that anyone can identify with. The goal is to bring people together to enjoy heartfelt stories that are uplifting. With the growing number of movies accessible at our fingertips, it is important to me to work as hard as I can to create content that will speak directly to people in a way that encourages them to live life in a positive way.
Your help, will pave the way to make art with PURPOSE for not only me, but the crew and the actors, as well. We plan to make a difference in this world through storytelling for years to come.

I know it can be hard to donate to something when you have bills and expenses to pay, but even a small amount can go such a long way! Impact
Have you ever wanted to impact people in way that can set them on a path to a better life? Do you wish people would help those around them more often? You can be a part of that impact by helping with this project, and in turn this film will try to do the same, through the characters, the story, and the heart that is put into it.
Getting my Radio, Television, and Film degree from the University of North Texas was a challenging task, but it was well worth gaining the knowledge and the skill set that I have to make an impact in this world. Also, learning to meet deadlines and follow very particular guidelines hasn't hurt either. I'm so excited to see what kind of impact Usher will have and how it will affect viewers and everyone involved in production (That includes you!).
Risks & Challenges
We will be filming Usher in an actual movie theater, and as amazing as that is, we need to get a liability policy to ensure that the crew, actors, and theater are covered for the duration of the production. This is one of the most important aspects of this entire project.
We also have a short time frame in late October to shoot the majority of the project in the theater. The good news is that everyone involved is making their schedules as flexible as they can in order to make this film happen. Please help me make this experience worth their time.
I have put a great amount of time and effort into this project and I haven't come this far to give up now. I will continue to use all of my knowledge, skills, resources, and talent to make something special for everyone to enjoy.
