We are Valor – a coffee company just north of Atlanta, Georgia. Since 2016, our Mission has been to Uplift People Through Coffee. One of the main ways we do this is by giving memorable experiences in our Alpharetta, GA based cafe. To spread our mission even further, we're opening a 2,000 square foot cafe in Dunwoody.

Backstory

Valor was founded in 2016 by Ethan Rivers, Ross Walters, and Riley Westbrook. We have a cafe in Downtown Alpharetta that opened back in 2019 and a Roasting Headquarters right down the street in Roswell that opened at the tail end of 2020. 

We started as a mobile espresso cart back in 2016 when we crowdsourced $10,000 through Kickstarter – we were all 19 at the time and had NO money to our names, so this truly got our company going. Our Mobile Cart helped us learn some business skills, save some capital, and build a following before we opened our Alpharetta cafe, which was also partly funded from an internal “Pay What You Want Campaign” that included items such as Coffee for a Year.

Valor's Mission

The three of us started Valor as a values based business, something that was honestly pretty rare in the specialty coffee industry when we were getting things going. We saw lots of folks giving great product, but extremely terrible service. Valor’s mission is to Uplift People Through Coffee, something we can proudly say we’ve accomplished – see our cafe's Google Reviews (some favorites include, "The Folks at Valor are too pure for words and I will fight anyone who says otherwise."). 

In an effort to spread that mission further, we’re opening our second cafe, located in Dunwoody Village, just outside the Atlanta Perimeter.

The 'Burbs Deserve Good Coffee, Too

When we opened a cafe in the suburbs, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. But after years of serving the people of Alpharetta, we can honestly say that there is a HUGE hole remaining in many suburban cities that have TONS of specialty coffee drinkers waiting for someone to quench that thirst. Valor is here to give those people what they deserve, a coffee shop with top notch coffee, environment, and hospitality.

The Humble Ask.

Though we’ve grown from our modest roots, Valor is still very much operated by tthe founders. We took on a ton of the work in building out both our cafe and roastery and this location will be no different. 

As we all know, everything is more expensive these days, plus this space is just way bigger (almost three times the size of our first cafe), but we really think details matter, down to the smallest intentional moments, and crowdfunding some extra cash will help us make Dunwoody just as magical as Alpharetta. 

That's why we're asking backers to help us reach our goal of $25,000 dollars – cash that will help us cross the finish line of this cafe that we've poured over a year of sweat and tears into.

Valor has taken no outside equity investment, and that is completely thanks to crowd funding. If it wasn’t for backers LIKE YOU helping Valor, we wouldn’t be able to say that. That’s why this campaign is as much of a thank you as it is a source of some extra cash.
