My name is Juan and I’m the co-founder of vaustil grills. I come from a family where food is a central part of life, we believe that food is one of those things that can make every day of your life a little bit happier, which turned my biggest passion into grilling.

The whole story began in Mexico, where back then, my father was very unhappy with the grills available on the market, so he decided to build a grill by himself. He was inspired by the Argentinean grills and took around 2 years of continuous improvement until he was completely happy with what he had. In Mexico, we grill more than 3 times a week and for me, it is the tastiest cooking method. Therefore, when I moved to Europe, we always thought about bringing our Argentinean grills. 

After some time we found a great project team, with a passion for design, love for food, who had the skills to do it. For Europe, we redesigned and developed our Argentinean grills and took it one step further and build the perfect charcoal grill - El Primero.  

With our integrated charcoal starter, it’s now easier than ever to generate a strong flame for your grilling needs, with the optimal temperature being reached in less than 20 minutes. Simply load the integrated charcoal starter with coal or briquettes and then set alight the firelighter (or your ignition material of choice) in the Primero ignition compartment.  

Primero offers an even distribution of constant heat. Using an intuitive height adjustment mechanism, the V-profile grate can be set to the ideal grilling heights to obtain that perfect exposure to the heat below. This way, Primero exercises convenient flexibility across multiple food groups, matching these to your glowing embers. 

Through a unique V-profile grate design, liquids released from food are ingeniously discouraged away from dripping onto glowing coals. This prevents the formation and build-up of carcinogenic (cancer-causing) substances, which can be deposited on food or inhaled with smoke. 

Conventional smart-grills are limited to a single temperature zone. This is where the powerful smart-technologies behind the intuitive Vaustil Primero grills distances itself from conventional. Standing at the forefront of technology with its remarkable 7-zone temperature sensor management, Vaustil’s Primero Smart grills provide a comprehensive heatmap across the grate. An intuitive Grill Assistant App lends a hand in guiding you to perfectly grilled meat sensations. 

The outer surfaces of Primero grills are isolated, protecting against unnecessary burns at festive and family gatherings. With Primero, heat is distributed where it should be, and not where it shouldn’t. 

It needed a lot of steps, trials & errors - a lot of sweat, tears & joyful moments to meet our expectations and to reach our goals. We started building and exploring in 2015. It took us three years to build the - for us - perfect grill.   

Because our product is already developed, we will use the Kickstarter money only to buy materials for our first serial production.

We developed two different versions of our grill. vaustil Primero comes without electronics and pure grilling passion. vaustil Primero Smart owns seven temperature sensors right beneath the grate and provides you great insights during grilling. It's very easy to upgrade your vaustil Primero to the Smart-Version, whenever you want.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES:

We are aware our project is complex and that there are always unforeseen issues, but we have anticipated and planned for potential risks and have built a rock-solid production and delivery plan.

Firstly, our production is quite advanced and you can be very confident about our capacity to provide high-quality products on time. We spent over 2 years designing, developing, and receiving finalized samples.

Secondly, we have very skillful and professional suppliers and do not anticipate delays to our timeline. However, if by chance anything unexpected happens, we promise to keep you informed, both during the campaign and afterwards.
