Void is a mafia-themed visual novel project from Vifth Floor team.

With its serious yet entertaining atmosphere, Void is made to be enjoyable by visual novel experts and also casual readers who want to enjoy story plots with great illustration and beautiful music.

Void will be released in 2 versions: One-shot version and Full version. The full version of the game is planned to be released on Steam (PC/Mac/Linux) and Google Play Store on 2nd quarter of 2016, while the one-shot version will be distributed just 1-2 weeks after the campaign's deadline.

► WHAT MAKES VOID DIFFERENT?

Void is made with high attention to illustration and sound quality that we see as a critical factors for a high standard commercial VN besides the story. The story itself is a mix of dark mafia life with a lot of dark comedy, which is very unique. We will make sure that the final product will have the atmosphere and quality that we seek together by collaborating only with professional level staff and also by actively hearing reader's feedback in every development phases. Our team is formed 100% by Indonesian, which may have different perspective and taste in contrast with Japanese or Westerners in making visual novel, so this will be a new experience for you to enjoy.

► WHY INDIEGOGO?

Void started as a result of some equally eager people working together with a simple dream; creating a visual novel of our own taste. But as the project progressed, we realized that we needed more hands in this to please our thirst for perfection. Talented people working in the team surely needed some chocolate chip cookies and a few cups of coffee to keep the inspiration flourish; they couldn't work for free. As more people got involved, funding suddenly became a challenge. Our little dream project got a bit chilling.

Indiegogo is a platform where we are enabled to reach you. You can take part in ensuring the quality of Void by supporting us here. The country where the project takes place is developing, and creative industry business such as ours needs to venture any possible opportunity. ► THE IMPACT

The campaign will become one of the defining moments in our growth if it turns out to be successful. Not only to support the production of Void visual novel, the outcome will also boost the development of forthcoming visual novels and games in many aspects; such as morale, exposure, and funding.


► GAME VERSIONS

As mentioned before, we will release 2 versions of Void: One-shot version and Full version.

One-shot version - A short prelude with improvable story and assets; more or less the same like one-shot in comic or manga. This version acts as demo, where you can give feedback to any aspects of the VN; including the story, illustration style, user interface, sound and everything else. It's a kinetic visual novel with linear plot and around 40 minutes play time. It will be distributed to all supporters in 1-2 weeks after this campaign deadline in September in the form of DRM-free apps for PC/Mac/Linux and APK file for Android device.

Full version - The final release of the game with improvement on every possible aspects from the One-shot version. The story parts in One-shot version might/might not be changed in this Full version, depends on the user's feedback. It's a dynamic visual novel with choices and routes, which make this version a medium length VN with more than 10 hours of gameplay. It will be distributed on Steam for PC/Mac/Linux and on Google Play Store for Android device in second quarter of 2016. If you choose Real Game or higher perk, you will receive the steam key and also APK file for Android device.

► SYNOPSIS



The story revolves around Arthur Woods, a young man trapped in his past. When his girlfriend died 5 years ago, time had stopped for him. Seeking revenge, he infiltrated the mafia organization known as "The Syndicate". Armed only by his wits and intelligence, he must climb to the top of the organization and eliminate whoever was responsible for his girlfriend's death.

Arthur was living in the mafia world, but he kept a normal campus life as a facade. Along the way, he met Julie Ross--the vigilante girl, and Ciel Blanchette--an enigmatic girl that could turn into his enemy at any second.

Vifth Floor is a group of enthusiastic people forming an indie game circle based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Our passion is to create high quality products in creative industry. Artistic aspects are of paramount significance for us hence the illustration, music and story for our projects are crafted by not only talented but dedicated people.

► RISKS & CHALLENGES

We've been through a number of alteration on our production plan because this is our first time building a visual novel. We were looking for a flow of development process that fits the team. In addition, some of our team members are currently in undergrad schools so we have to make the production timeline fits them too. We have been working in the most efficient and effective schedule as we can without burning out the team.

► FAQ

+ What is visual novel or VN?
- Visual Novel (VN) is a mix of novel with plenty of visual assets and sounds to make it similar to an animation rather than just a typical novel. Sometimes there are mechanics of game inserted in the visual novel, which makes it a video game too. + How about the language?
- Void will have English and Indonesian language which you can choose in the game setting. Japanese language will be added if the stretch goal reached. Some dialogue contents like joke and word play in each language will be adjusted to each other culture to make sense of them.

+ Will the characters be voiced?
- We would be glad if they are voiced! To make it come true, please support us until we reach the stretch goal for voice actor. We plan to collaborate with Japanese professional voice actor for Void.

+ What will happen if the goal is not reached?
- Worry not. We will still deliver all of our rewards to you. The full version of the game will still be developed. Unfortunately, there is a chance that we could not ensure the artistic quality and punctuality of the release date.

+ What age is suitable to read Void?
- Void may contain bad language, swearing, mild sex joke, a bit revealing clothes and depiction of criminal act (being mafia is a crime already). We recommend Void to be read by 16+ years old readers.

+ I want to choose a perk with poster reward, but my country is not listed in the shipping locations. What should I do?
- For now, you can choose Indonesia as shipping location. We will add the rest of the shipping fee after we calculate how much it really costs.
