THE LEGEND OF VULPES
The legend of Wreathwood is reborn. Nobody has seen VULPES since 1996, the mysterious limping man who opposes animal abuse, the man who has punished and tortured 9 men that committed any crime against animals in the past. After the law revisioning animal protection has passed, he suddenly disappeared and believed to be dead for 20 years.
In 2017 a new video has spread through the internet. A Major who has been missing for days is being interrogated. The man has been accused of animal cruelty, and now he is publicly punished by a limping figure leaning on a walkingstick with a foxhead shaped hilt. He has returned after many years to raise awareness once again, Animal abuse is not something that you can get away with a fine or jail sentence.
WHO AM I?
I am Benjamin Helmeczi from Hungary. I love movies still my birth. This will be my second short film, the first one was an exam in school two years ago. It was an adaptation of O.Henry’s novel called The last leaf. With this short I won the first award of short film cathegory on a filmfestival in Hungary.

MY INSPIRATION
Animal abuse is always and still an actual problem in our world and there is no explicit legal punishment to fight against these people to drive them back. I think people like you and just like me often think that animal tortures would deserve the same thing what they do with the animals. And I was thinking about this: What if somebody comes and does what these people deserves.
That’s how VULPES born. He’s not just a limping man with a walking-stick, he could be a symbol, the symbol of the fight against animal tortures. That’s my dream. I don’t need any prize or awards, I just want to show something new for the people, for the animal-lovers and for the film fans too, I want to put another milestone int he horror genre with VULPES.

MY PLANS AFTER THE MOVIE
With my small indie crew we always make an effort to create Hollywood quality products from low-budget just like in VULPES. After we finished the film I want to present it on festivals around the world and here in Hungary we will certainly have four audience meetings. And I know after te short film the audience wants to see the sequel, they want to see more of VULPES. Next comes the VULPES feature film. I want to expand this universe. First I want to win those trust who support me and join us.

ABOUT THE STYLE OF THE MOVIE
I think, in addition this movie's story has a serious message, it's no coincidence that I chose this genre. People are punished and killed in public. This can be described in a subtle manner, but it would lose its mood, its message, and the seriousness of the story. This film will be brutal in the sense that I will show all tortures and murders so realistic that the audience will really believe that I have killed this man. They will feel the pain, but they will not mourn the victim. In the first few minutes, the audience will hate the victim, they will accept VULPES's motivation and accept the destiny of the victim because they would do the same. I think everyone has VULPES personality. The embodiment of course human thoughts is VULPES. If you think this man deserves the same thing what he does with an animal, VULPES has spoken in you. In short, this movie will be a brutal psycho horror with a serious message and I guess VULPES can become a symbol. And I know this movie is an innovation in this genre. And I would like to more and more people could join this project and be part of this universe.
