War of Words - Progressive Media Conference

The Norwich Radical are looking to host the first ever progressive media conference, bringing together the progressives from across the arts, academia, media and politics to discuss, debate and enlighten on how we can build a better media and a more progressive society.

We have a huge number of speakers and sessions confirmed including:
  • Natalie Bennett, Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales
  • Clive Lewis, Labour MP for Norwich South
  • Michelle Stanistreet, General Secretary of the National Union of Journalists
  • Women, Islam and the Media
  • The Representation of Sex Workers in the Media
  • Ben Chacko, Editor of The Morning Star
  • Why Translation Matters
  • New Internationalist - Progressive Reporting
  • Women, Politics and Media
  • Media in Development 
  • Comics As a Radical Medium
  • Political Blogging
  • The Importance of Student Journalism
Unfortunately, to do this we need to pay for all sorts of things, from advertising to expenses and from equipment hire to signage. We're funding part of our costs through merchandise sales and charging organisations for stalls, but we can't cover everything through this. So that's where you come in!

What your money could go towards:
  • £5 would allow us to print 250 fliers
  • £10 would allow us to print 50 posters
  • £30 would allow us to reimburse one speaker's transport expenses
  • £100 would allow us to fund a panel of speakers transport expenses
