I am a filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada originally from Italy. I've been a huge music fan all my life and started making music videos in my late teens. In 2019, my first feature length music documentary WHERE DOES A BODY END? on the band SWANS came out. It played festivals around the world and received critical acclaim.
I've embarked on a new challenge for my next film on a band I have loved since I bought their record in 1987. Legendary 4AD post punk band REMA-REMA.
This film is very important to me and another labour of love in order to bring the story of this band to life.
With your support, I would like to make the story of Rema-Rema known to the world as an important band to be re:discovered and re:examined as a crucial and important part of the post punk era of 1979-1980
- I've been working on the film for most of this year after a Covid hiatus of 2 years after having begun filming in 2019. I've been funding the film myself but now as I am getting closer to the finish line there are big expenses that I need help with such
- AUDIO MIX
- COLOR CORRECT
- ARCHIVE
- MUSIC PUBLISHING
- AND MORE
- . All these will add up to tens of thousands of dollars.
- Total expenses will be around $40-50,000 by the time I'm finished
- I've made available several unique and one of a kind items for purchase to supporters
- Even if I don't reach my goal, the funds will help vastly in covering the above costs.
- I successfully completed my previous documentary on the band SWANS with the help of a crowdfunding campaign
- The film will raise awareness of Rema-Rema and 4AD to people who don't know about the label and to fans of 4AD who are not aware of Rema-Rema. A new generation of fans will be able to rediscover this important band in the history of 4AD.
- There is a big financial risk to starting the project with my own funding but I am hoping to recoup some of the costs with your help in order to create this artefact
- Describe your plan for solving these challenges.
- Please let as many 4AD fans know about the project.
- You can use the Indiegogo share tools!
Thank you very much.
Sincerely, Marco Porsia.
