March 2019: So a lot of you are asking… what's next? And that question is right "on track" (pun intended)! Following our VIP Donor Screening in December, we began the process of submitting WHEN THE TRAIN STOPS to film festivals. And guess what? We already won one! The Platinum Award for "Best Fantasy Short" at the February 2019 Independent Shorts Awards was given to WHEN THE TRAIN STOPS — and we couldn't be more thrilled!
But getting the film released to the public involves numerous steps, including:
- Submission to more festivals and awards presentations;
- Production of necessary PR/marketing materials;
- Retention of sales agent(s);
- Legal/accounting necessities related to the film's release;
- Courting distributors; and
- Manufacture of any necessary distribution deliverables.
And, unfortunately, these things require capital. At this point, we haven't reached our stretch goal of $58,000 in order to get the film "out into the world."
We're very proud of WHEN THE TRAIN STOPS, and we'd hate for the movie not to get a proper release. After all, is a film really "a film" if no one sees it?
And that's where you can help! In addition to our existing perks — including screen-used props and costumes — we're now adding a limited number of professionally-authored screener DVDs and Blu-rays (signed by Michael Forest himself!) which include the full short film, behind-the-scenes extras, stereo and 5.1 sound mixes, and optional English captions. Grab 'em while you can! [UPDATE: Screener DVDs and Blu-rays are now sold out!]
If you've already donated, thank you so much!!! If you can donate again, that'd be swell… and if you can't, please continue to help us by sharing our campaign with friends, family, and social media. We wouldn't have this film without our wonderful donors… and we're thisclose to getting it "out into the world"!
December 2018: Our VIP Hollywood Screening on the 9th was So much fun! It was such a pleasure to share the evening with so many of our beloved donors, cast, crew and friends. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a huge success!

November 2018: New trailer and scoring video – and a soundtrack! Director James Kerwin made the new trailer for our film which you can watch above… and this amazing video with Rekha Sharma as a featured soloist in our original score by Mike Avenaim!
September 2018: It is finished! The final touches on our film are complete thanks to the generosity and trust of our amazing donors! Here's a wonderful review from Super Fan Gary Brown.
We are in the final phase of fundraising! We have begun entering the film into festivals around the world — and, sadly, that's not free. ? We've added some brand-new perks: screen-used items and tickets to the VIP screening in Hollywood on December 9th! The proceeds will go toward more film festival entries… and getting this beautiful movie, which marks the close of Michael Forest's iconic 63-year film career, the attention it deserves. Thank you for helping to make this a reality!
June 2018: Achievement unlocked! Donors blew through the $50K stretch goal, unlocking this very special video from Michael Forest!
April 2018: We are officially in post production! Our cast and crew wrapped filming and a fantastic job was done by all. Onward!
December 2017: We did it! We met our first stretch goal for post production! Here's the special video message from Vic Mignogna, as promised:
Achievement Unlocked!
We met our original goal with 8 hours to spare on December 6, thanks to you! Whew! Now we're on to…
Above & Beyond
-
$48K - "Post production." We'll be able to edit the film, score it, and get our post-production sound mix completed
- $50K - "Production value upgrades."
-
$58K - "Out in the World." We'll be able to submit our film to festivals all over the world and properly market it for awards presentation and distribution.

Though Booth takes a personal interest in the case when Clive insists upon his innocence, the young man ultimately resigns himself to his sad fate. But little does Clive know that the future waiting for him when the train stops isn't at all what he expects — and neither, for that matter, is Marshal Booth…
