Short Summary

My name is Chris Doherty. I am the Sports Production Director at WMUA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. We are a non-commercial student radio station that covers all sorts of UMass Athletics events throughout the year in addition to music and news programming. In just a few weeks the UMass Men's Basketball team will be playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nearly 20 years. Covering this event would be a great opportunity for not just us as students, but for our station and its listeners as a whole.

The NCAA Tournament is outside of our station's annual sports budget. Your contribution, whatever you could give, would go a long way to helping us get there. 

What We Need & What You Get

The funds we make will go to paying for our hotel and transportation for this trip. The location will not be announced until March 16 but we expect the trip will cost at least $1,000 if not more. Our goal of $600 will help offset the costs we will incur to cover this once in a lifetime opportunity. Even if we do not reach our goal of $600, all donations will go to funding our trip wherever UMass is sent.

The Impact

You will be allowing our listenership that spans around the country and even to other continents around the world the opportunity to hear us broadcast an historical event for the University.
