Support World Peace!
World Peace Football brings together two great passions - world peace and football!
- Help us spread world peace through football, with your grass-roots support, by sponsoring our local programs and the WPF Peace Festival
- Your support will directly help with our local programs, initially focused on refugee integration through participation in local football activities - great for the children and parents to meet their new neighbors and integrate through positive activities in their new communities
- Your support will also help bring WPF Peace Ambassadors to our WPF Peace Festival, in Reykjavik, Iceland Oct 6-9, 2016. Selected from the world's conflict hot spots, they will return to their homelands as Peace Ambassadors, with a new understanding of their brothers and sisters from other nations, spreading the word for world peace
-
Join us yourself, as a player or not, with or without your own team, for our 2016 WPF Peace Festival in Iceland Oct 6-9. We will be celebrating Iceland's peaceful presence in the world while recognizing its passion for football
- If you cannot personally make it to the event, but would like to support world peace - through the global language of football - please make a contribution!
- Whether or not you're not in a position right now to help financially, please share this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn - that will help and be greatly appreciated!!

What We Need & What You Get
We need financial assistance for our local refugee programs, and to organize the Peace festival.
- Our local programs provide full kit and boots, as well as the local fees, for participation in local football (aka soccer) programs, to newly-arrived refugee families. The current programs are budgeted at $20,000 but with your support we can help many more families.
- Organizing the Peace Festival will cost at least $20,000, and more depending on how many Peace Ambassadors participate
- In the first year, we hope to defray the costs for up to 4 teams to join us for the WPF Peace Festival, which will cost at least $40,000 depending on travel cost defrayments
- So all up, including basic operating costs of $20,000, to fully realize our goals we need to raise $100,000. If we raise more, we can support more refugee families and potentially bring more teams from trouble hot spots to the Peace Festival. If we raise much more, we'll expand the format with regional WPF Peace Festivals in 2017
- Whatever we raise, we'll sponsor as many families and teams as we can. When it comes to world peace, every little bit helps! Next year (2017) we'll aim bigger - this is just the beginning of a global movement!
- What you get is to help create an important new grass-roots movement from scratch. In a world where people have become very cynical regarding the 'football elite', known for corruption and back-room deals, we're bringing football back to the people. Join in from the beginning, be recognized as a Founder of WPF!
- Helping is as easy as 1-2-3, and you can do all three!
- 1 = participation in the events
- 2 = contributions through purchasing some of the awesome perks

3 = helping with social networking for the campaign by forwarding the link to our campaign to your email contacts and sharing the campaign on your social networks
The Impact
We strongly believe that together we can have a huge impact on world peace, through the international language of football.
Much as people are fed up with the football elite, there is also great cynicism in many countries regarding a lack of political leadership and the failure of the political elite to lead countries to peace.
We are taking the initiative by declaring Peace! And we're reaching out to some of the most troubled parts of the world to change people's lives and create WPF Peace Ambassadors to spread the message.
In a unique format (explained below under World Peace Football Rules) we will build new friendships, greater understanding, and enthusiasm for going home and spreading the good word about their new friends.
Special WPF Peace Rules
Since our goal is to promote world peace through football, our football format has several important peace-promoting differences. We have tested them extensively in on-field R&D, and they work!:
- Goals are not counted, though great plays and acts of sportsmanship are applauded and rewarded
- There is no referee, instead, the game is 'self called' by the players. Any disagreement is quietly and peacefully resolved by the 2 team captains
- The game is contact-free under these rules, like basketball. This easily encourages mixed gender games and also games with a wide age range
- A 'yellow card' infraction is treated as a red card, including a suspension for one immediately subsequent match
- We play a reduced-numbers format, depending on the surface and the number of players available. Minimum 6 per side, ideally 2 subs per side
- ... and: the two teams are mixed together!
Why Iceland?
We chose to hold the inaugural WPF Peace Festival in Iceland for a number of reasons:
- Iceland is easy to get to and very central between Europe and the Americas. With two domestic airlines (WOW Airlines and IcelandAir) plus others now serving it, it is inexpensive and easy to get to
- Iceland, if you think per capita, is probably the highest-ranking football nation on the planet. They're crazy about football and will be a wonderful participating country
- Iceland is also famous for warm hospitality and community initiatives - they're looking forward to meeting you!
Note that for Iceland 2016 your travel, accommodations, meals, local transport and refreshments are at your expense. Your team may be selected however for expense defrayment as an official Peace Ambassador squad, depending on how much funds we succeed in raising together.
If you'd like to know more, you can purchase the Q&A Videoconference perk and we'll be happy to answer your questions - and get your additional ideas!!!
