Deng Thiak Adut is one of the speakers who will be attending and contributing his voice, his experiences, his wisdom, to this World Summit.
This is a world-first World Summit. Real, powerful people coming together to find real solutions to a global crisis.
"Even the smallest change in a single policy, that is adopted by a nation, can have a positive impact on the lives of millions of refugee's. We have to try."
Mark Ryan MBA WGCDR (Ret'd), Executive Director.
Innovation and courageous leadership are required to bring about real change – humanity can’t sit back and do nothing. This World Summit, being held in Adelaide, Australia on the 8th and 9th of March 2016, will bring together the world’s
foremost experts on this tragic uncontrolled migration, to discuss the problem
with politicians and policy-makers – those who have the power to really make a
difference and find a global solution to end this crisis.
Last year the media focus was clearly upon reporting the crisis in Europe. Little was said about Yemen, Myanmar, USA, Africa and other areas of the Middle East. For example there are over 11 million refugees currently residing in the USA of which many will have an important voice that could change the political agenda for the better.
We seek your contribution to help bring about real change - to help our world’s leaders to find a world solution to a tragedy affecting millions of people.
As a population, the sheer number of displaced people would equal that of the 24th largest country worldwide.
Globally, there are over 60 million people classified as refugees or living in ‘refugee like’ situations, a number that is set to rapidly increase due to a combination of poor governance, war, conflict, political oppression and economic disadvantage. It is therefore now, imperative that policy makers, agency heads in charge of border security, non-profit humanitarian organisations, academia, migration experts and national leaders come together.
As we get closer to the World Summit, more speakers are confirmed. Check out our GALLERY section for continuously updated attendants.
We currently have over 20 confirmed speakers ranging from USA, Europe, Indonesia, Africa, Hong Kong, Australia and more. This isn't just a Pipe Dream, it is happening, and these people will change everything. You, will help us change everything.
The attendees all have the same interest – to work out and develop sustainable solutions to the migration crisis. They will come from many different nations and areas of life. They will represent many different nations, peoples, religions, political views and cultures. But they will all come together in South Australia for two days to try and find a solution to a global, world problem.
42,500. The number of newly displaced people every day in 2014. That's a person almost every two seconds.
Five million Syrian people are still
desperate enough to cross the Mediterranean. They can’t even swim. Thousands are
predicted to drown – men, women, children and babies. They have no place to go, no other option.
Syria is just one aspect of a global refugee catastrophe that is happening right
now.
This
is the largest mass movement of homeless people across the globe for more than
70 years. Due to a combination of war, conflict,
political oppression, economic disadvantage and national governance issues,
humankind is now facing a major crisis on every continent – including Europe,
Africa, Asia, and America.
How Your Contribution Will Make a Difference
Your financial contribution will help take the pressure off the organisers of this World Summit by; funding its broadcasting and recording, help ease the cost of flying and accomodating the speakers, .We need this change and want it to be
accessible to a worldwide audience both live and post-event.
This is a global problem, requiring a global
solution. It is critical the solutions
that emerge from this World Summit receive wide and lasting global
exposure. They will be an ongoing
resource for the development of concrete action plans. They will guide future policy decisions.
Each contribution will play a key role in supporting the world summit, this includes:
1) Broadcasting the world summit live to:
·
Over
250 global universities and migration think tanks
·
An
online audience of millions of people in every continent of the world
2) Enabling key speakers to attend,
particularly those from less well-off nations – those who have a vital
contribution to make, but who are not financially equipped to be able to fly
3) Allowing refugees to
have their voices heard - so their unfortunate stories will be heard by powerful
policy makers, and those who have the ability to bring about real, lasting
change for the better
Even the smallest contribution from you will change the world for the better. You can make an impact.
This is a global tragedy and a humanitarian crisis on a scale not seen since World War II.
Who
will be attending the summit?
The World Summit will be attended by powerful people who are respected
leaders, innovators and experts in many diverse areas that affect
migration. They are influential world
leaders, policy-makers and people whose votes will count when it comes to
implementing solutions. They include
major politicians, business people, respected academics, community members,
charity and non-government organisation leaders - plus of course refugees
themselves.
Experience Matters
We know experience matters and we are an experienced, dedicated, talented group of individuals from
all over Australia who are working together to make this World Summit a huge
