About the Project
Thanks for checking out the project. My name is Casey Giltner. "You Used to be Beautiful" is a screenplay I wrote in the Spring of 2011. It is 95-page feature length script.
Nearly a year of rewriting and refining later, I am ready to take the next step and film it. The film aims to highlight the city, people, and culture of Denver, Colorado.
We are set to begin filming on March 9th and will film for three weeks until March 25th.
What's the Story?
Logline: Roman & Sophia are complete opposites, but love each other nonetheless. As relationship drama occurs with their friends and family, both struggle with doubt and disappointment in deciding whether or not to take the next step.
Ultimately, this story is about love, marriage, the ingrained expectations we all carry with us. It's also about the precarious position that many graduates find themselves in.
Our Production
We are shooting with a Canon T3i, a brother of the 7D, which films such as "Like Crazy," "Tiny Furniture," and parts of "Black Swan" were shot with. We are using Zeiss prime lenses.
We have cast all the roles in the film and are currently locking down locations for the shoot. A lot of planning is being done to maximize our efficiency. Lens rentals are expensive, so we are doing everything we can beforehand to be ready.
Where the money will go
Up to this point, the entire production has been funded by my credit card. Because I have nearly reached my credit limit, I need to find new sources of funding. That's where you come in. We are asking you fine folks for $2,100 to make this pipe-dream a reality.
We need:
$500 to feed the cast and crew
$400 to rent three Zeiss prime lenses
$600 for a sound recorder/mixer
$300 for lavalier microphones
$300 for a hypercardioid microphone
Total = $2,100
Anything donated beyond $2,100 is still greatly appreciated. To see what we would spend additional funds on, please see our itemized budget:
