Zami Smart Stool is the result of years of research on ergonomics and is designed to improve posture and promote active sitting. Made from the highest quality European sourced materials, this patented, double-convex form is the first sensor-enabled stool that gives you real-time feedback on your posture. The stool communicates to the Zami mobile app and collects data providing intelligent feedback and insight into your posture and daily sitting habits. After an initial short setup to determine your weight and other vital metrics, pressure sensors in each of the four legs determine your weight distribution and accurately determine your posture. This information is transmitted via Bluetooth to the Zami mobile app, which gives you immediate feedback about how to correct your posture.
Utilizing the sensors, the mobile app also provides you information about your sitting, including:
- The time spent sitting (active and passive)
- Quality of sitting (posture) and exercises to improve your daily sitting habits

The Zami Smart Stool has coated black steel and oak wood legs, and a genuine European sourced leather cushion seat. There is also a foot rest so is a great height for anyone.

You will receive immediate feedback from the app if you are not sitting right, not taking appropriate breaks or are sitting too long. The app also comes with suggested exercises and general healthy lifestyle suggestions. The long-term goal is to integrate Zami Life products with various other health and fitness options to give a complete picture of your health and lifestyle, providing an integrated experience.
The Zami app will track your sitting history, allowing you to get an overview about your sitting. This information can be presented to your physician when you need to do a post-facto analysis or plan for sitting and posture improvement that can be monitored along the way.
The Team
Zami is a self-funded company from the town of Arnhem, Netherlands. Orthopedic Surgeon Piete Van Loon and Designer Ruud-Jan Kokke created the Zami as a solution to sitting related back pain prevalent in todays society.
