Our Story
ZER0 LIMIT: Infinite Dreamer is the first game in the ZER0 LIMIT series. In it, you are the dreamer. Your goals are straight forward: Run as fast as you can, jump as high as you can, and whatever you do, DON'T wake up. Because when you wake up, the dream ends.
The game will take place in a fantasy landscape, where you're invited to explore upward as much as forward. You, as the dreamer, will continue to accelerate until you do something which hinders it, like running into an obstacle, or particular items. Regulate your speed to keep the game going. Or don't, and see how long you can last. Explore the skies as you use your speed to jump higher and higher, and see how long you can keep in the air without hitting the ground. Just make sure to watch your landings.
The idea for the game came to Adam based on how he dreams. You hear often about people flying in their dreams. But Adam's never been able to do that. In his dreams, he tends to JUMP. Very high, and very far, and with vivid hang times and free falls. Add that with the other nonsense that you find in dreams and you've got the recipe for an interesting game.
We want to start full development of the game by the end of January, and have planned to develop the game in 3 months, meaning it should be out for the beginning of May 2012.
The Impact
This game is a stepping stone. Throw Away Games has big plans for the ZER0 LIMIT series, and game development in general, but we have to pace ourselves. Our first game being about a dream rings true for us, and by helping to fund it, you're helping us make it a reality.
What We Need & What You Get
We're looking for $5000 to pay the bills while we work on development. This will also cover the costs of the software license, and any assets and fees that we haven't been able to scrape together for free. Even if we don't meet our funding goal, this game WILL get finished. It will just take much longer as focus will be diverted from development to fund raising.
We really want to give out free versions of the game to people who donate, but as of yet we have not found a suitable way (Apple only allows 50 promo codes to developers, which means not everyone would get a copy). If anyone can inform of us of a way to do this, then we will add that to every donation level. Outside of that, we're offering up our thanks, credit, and media to those of you who help support us. Check out the perks for more details on what you can get.
Something else you want that's not already there?? ASK! No promises, but we'll see what we can do :)
We're also looking for funding through other streams. You can learn more here:
