What is Driver B?
We're an idea right now--and we want to become an app! That's why we're here--we need YOUR help! :)
Driver B is a ride sharing company that emphasizes personalized transportation services--what this means is, on your ride, if you need to stop at 7-11 to pick up that extra bag of doritoes for those late night munches, or if you need someone to take you to a doctor's appointment, and accompany you while inside, this is the app for you! How many times have you had to run to the ATM, or pick up a bunch of groceries, or needed to just run inside a store for 15 minutes and didn't want to deal with ordering another car?
We are going to take ride-sharing, errand running, task managing, and clean up crew (just cuz it sounds good, right? :) and roll it all up into one.
How will Driver B
work?
Driver B will function exactly
the same way as the ride sharing companies you currently know and use – tap
your phone, and your ride arrives!
This is some of our concept graphics for the app:

The difference with Driver B, is that we will customize your needs and requirements for your ride. Need extra assistance with luggage? Do you have difficulty getting in and out of a car? Do you need someone to accompany you while shopping or inside a doctor's appointment? Looking for a driver who drives 'fast' (as legally possible, of course), or a driver who doesn't mind stopping for small errands on your journey?

As everyone's needs are different, no ride is exactly the same, and Driver B will customize to the needs of each rider--for anyone!

Ride Sharing should be by the community, for the community, to support the community. One Ride at a Time.

How did Driver B get
started?
Co-founder Tara Leigh suffers from Lupus and other serious health problems, so she has become very
dependent on ride sharing as a way of getting around town affordably. Tara is the chatty sort ('hi' and 'how are you' are *not* Tara's style--within five minutes she'll know your life history or you'll know hers, depending on which mood she's in), and talking with drivers, she learned they were growing more and more dissatisfied with how they were being paid.
No drivers of course means no rides, and after the fifth driver in a week told her they were
quitting due to the fact it wasn’t enough income anymore, Tara told her partner, Peter Leonas, he needed to put his techy brain on it-- “We have to
fix this problem”.
So Peter spent a few weeks developing a new ride sharing model, one that incorporates both the multiple of 'helper apps' that Tara has become dependent on, as well as a fair profit sharing model with the drivers. “Ride sharing is supposed to service you, so it should be benefitting your needs while out and around town while also creating a reasonable price model so the drivers earn a living as well."
And Driver B was born.

Who is behind Driver B?
In addition to Peter and Tara, Driver B is building a foundation team to bring our vision of a community based ride sharing company to life.
Kevin Matthews Mobile Architect and Engineer
"Technology is a tool--a magic wand--to help and shape humanity, and it's my life passion to build projects that benefit as many people as possible." Kevin Matthews has spent the last twenty years intimately involved in all aspects of app development and production, from back in the day when the App Store was for the Ipod. He has served in an advistory capacity to multiple technology start-ups. Actively involved in all areas of development, from architecture to deployment, Kevin has also been responsible for various iOS integration for clients such as Aruba Networks (Zingbox), Trukman, Shoppler, Dufree (Dutyfree) and most recently the virtual reality app Spinnable. "Driver B presents a fascinating challenge--I'm not interested in just developing another ride-sharing company app, I'm interested in developing THE BEST ride-sharing app available on the market. One that functions with novelty and ingenuity, while maintaining the functionality that current ride sharing consumers enjoy."
Sarah Bucciero Director of Non-Profit Partnerships
Sarah Bucciero found her passion for non-profit after her three year old son, Carter, passed away from an inoperable astrocytoma glioma brain tumor. "Non-profit organizations were the heart and soul of getting Carter access to the best treatment available." On her journey, Sarah experienced first hand the positive impact non-profits have on our communities, and vowed to do whatever she could to support non-profits and their mission in Carter's memory. "What excites me about Driver B, is our commitment to ensuring the revenue generated by ride sharing goes directly to where it belongs--back to the community. I'm looking forward to connecting essential non-profit organizations with a referral code, creating a valuable revenue stream for them."
Catherine Winteringham, RN, BSN Director of Medical and Special Needs
Deeply committed and compassionate towards the needs of others, Cathy has been on the frontline of numerous healthcare innovations since the beginning of her career. "I'm always looking for ways of incorporating technology into improving patient experiences." Since first becoming a registered nurse in 1975, Cathy has been actively involved in the healthcare profession while providing additional support services for thousands of individuals. "When someone is ill, or injured, or in any kind of need for special assistance, getting from point A to point B can be very difficult, yet it is *vital* for continuity of care that a patient attends all physician appointments and follow up exams. I'm looking forward to building Driver B to be the most effective network of support for anyone who needs a ride--no matter how much assistance they require."

IndieGoGo Campaign!
We can not accomplish our goal of a ride sharing company
that shares the wealth without your help! (You hear that Grandma?? We need you! Not the check-book, we're doing this the Internet way--I'll call and explain later :) We need to raise funds to build our
app and pay for all of the costs associated with ride sharing – like insurance
for the drivers, advertising, etc...all the boring stuff but it keeps us all safe and secure.
