Markus Rill's 10th studio album "Something Real"

For his 10th studio album accomplished singer-songwriter Markus Rill starts his first-ever crowdfunding campaign. "I feel like this album will have some of the most accessible songs I've ever written as well some really poignant songs", Markus says. "With just a little support I could reach more people than ever before and take an extra step."

• Markus tours all over Europe and has performed at some of the USA's most legendary venues & festivals (SXSW, The Bluebird Café, Folk Alliance etc.)
  
• Markus has won several prestigious songwriting awards bestowed on him by jury members like Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt and Jason Isbell. 
• Legendary artists like Rosanne Cash, Gretchen Peters and Ray Wylie Hubbard have recommended his music to their fans and followers on social media.

Markus explains: "Every album I've ever made I have paid entirely out of my own pocket. And after paying for studio recordings, mixing and mastering to get the music just right I had usually reached the bottom of the barrel - and by that I mean my credit card limit." Markus's albums have been critically acclaimed and much-loved by music aficionados. With this 10th album he would love to reach a wider audience. The challenge

"I really have no doubt that the album will come out good and I'm pretty sure you're going to dig it", says Markus. "But I do admit I'm a little afraid of falling flat on my face with the crowdfunding."
That is why Markus covers all the costs related to the actual recording process. "I don't want to have to rely on anybody else for that. Also I don't want to be in a position of second-guessing my creative instinct by knowing this contributer loves the rock songs but this other contributor loves the slower ones."
