My name is Doug Odell, proprietor and Dragon of The Dragon’s Hoard, lifelong gamer and geek. In 2008 I opened The Dragon’s Hoard in Silverdale, Washington to share my love of dice, board, and card games in a place where people could interact face to face without pressing [ENTER]. From a tiny corner of a combined storefront to half the space of that same storefront seven years later, The Dragon’s Hoard has become Kitsap county‘s Friendliest Local Game Store, open and inclusive.
Now we need your help to find a larger space.
We’d initially anticipated moving at the end of July, but unforeseen circumstances have pushed the move to March 31st which doesn’t give us much time to save for moving expenses. With this campaign we hope to raise $6,000.00 to cover:
$3000.00 for deposit and first month’s rent on a new location
$1500.00 for truck rental and labor
$1500.00 for various components that make a new storefront a place of business (fire extinguishers, light fixtures, signage, vacuum, power strips, etc.)
This is a big step for The Dragon’s Hoard. With your help we can expand our play space, host larger events, and have an onsite restroom open during all business hours. We’ll have more space for a greater selection of games and supplies, and extend our hours of operation.
Our customers deserve a place where they can play in peace and comfort. Your support can give them that space and earn you some great perks along the way: gift certificates; custom dice; punch cards for money off event fees; invitations to our older set M:TG drafts this summer; 10% off purchases for the remainder of 2015.
The project isn’t without risks, but we’re ready to take this next step. If we don’t reach our full funding, all money raised will go to the rent and deposit. If we can’t find a suitable location by March 31st, that will only make our eventual grand opening even more awesome.
